Just a reminder that the 2008 Northwest Scale Hydroplane Championship is taking place October 11th and 12th at Twin Lakes Park in Arlington Washington. We have expanded the program to include Classic Thunderboats along with the RTR Miss Vegas boats that we added last year. This year we have some of the top 1/8 Scale Hydro racers from all over the United States, Canada and from as far away as New Zealand representing APBA, NAMBA and IMPBA.

The schedule for this year’s contest is:

Friday 12:00 to 3:00 open water all classes

Saturday 9:00 open water - Racing starts 10:00 Thunderboats and 1/8 Scale Hydro heats

Sunday 9:00 open water - Racing starts 10:00 1/8 Scale Hydro and Mini-Thunder heats

Just home from the lake and wanted to give a brief overview of the 2008 Northwest Scale Hydroplane Championship race. We had 30 1/8 Scale Boats, 10 Classic Thunderboats and 12 Miss Vegas Boats. The weather was absolutely perfect, cool and no wind. We had

racers from Canada, New Zealand, California and Evansville representing NAMBA, APBA and IMPBA. The racing was especially clean with very few penalties being called. OK you just want to know who won ---- 1/8th Scale -Kirk Maupin driving his very fast 77-Esquire. Classic Thunderboats- David Newton with his Miss Tempo 7 -- Miss Vegas class Nick Wiest driving a very fast boat… Please

visit WWW. PNWTA.ORG for photos and complete updates…Thanks to all that attended the race with special thanks to Al Waters for flying in to CD the race... Marty
