David Jensen brought up a very good point about Bill and Dave Brandt and the things they have learned over the years making them as good as they are. Especially because they run a pickle fork and a round nose showing that both style of hulls are capable of being right there in the hunt (which means that there might be hope for me some day)
...
Sorry Al, but Bill runs the '72 Notre Dame, which is NOT a round nose boat... So there still isn't any hope for you. :D

Hey Jeff,

I guess I really embarrassed myself there didn't I.

Maybe I better stay with the Vegas RTR's. I have to admit that they were a lot of fun with a ten boat Final.

...and just in case anyone was wondering. I did get my Chicken Fried Steak at the Buzz Inn Steak House. I was asked by no less than 5 people at the races about that. I guess some people are known for their fast boats and some people for other things.

Mr. CCG,

Nice job with the filming. You spent a lot of time at the races. That was a nice gesture.

Thanks, Al Waters

Man you guys are really killing me.....I'm so kicking myself for not going but work has redefined the word "BURIED" Then of course my wife's Suburban decided to blow up the rear differential and of course the warranty just expired three months ago. So $2000 of play money disappeared rather quickly. I haven't even run a boat since the Muncey and that was a month ago. I'm startin' to get the shakes! I even bought a Vegas for this and didn't get to play!

Which reminds me....Hey Dunny what's with Tower Hobbies lately? I've been trying to gat another one for my son so we can play at the Grand Prix Classic but they keep pushing back in stock dates. You know what may be going on?

They got a bunch in a couple of weeks ago and it looks like they sold them all out. You might want to check with some LHS. Someone must have a few in stock. I know there's two at a LHS in my area.

Yep, you are right about that one. I foopahed. Unlike a lot of races that I am sure that we have all been to, these judges were right next to me and they made calls. Not just one or two of the judges. The entire weekend and all who participated. It kept the racing honest and it makes a race reputable. What I am trying to say is that they weren't lap counters like many judges. They made me look good. I made myself look pretty stupid out here.

I know that I dish it out............... and I can take it. Keep it coming guys. I deserve it! :D

See ya,

Al Waters

The website has been updated for the 07 race http://stubbersmedia.com/nwshc/racephotos.htmlhttp://stubbersmedia.com/nwshc/racephotos.html

Please take some time and look around the website This site is designed and maintained by one of the best webmasters around and who is also a very competitive racer (Jeff Stubbers). From all the e-mails and calls I've had it looks like everyone had a good time this year. I want to thank Al Waters for his time and the sponsors for there continued support. I will keep everyone updated as we start planning for the 2008 race.

What I like about this hobby is that people participate for different reasons.

Frank came all the way from Oregon, a 5-hour drive, to make this video for us. He decided to do this on his own, no one asked him to do it; he thought it would be something fun to do. We had many people show up just to help with the race because they love the sport, not just because they had a boat to run.

My hat is off to all those that love this hobby of model boat racing.

Thank you Frank for your video of the racing, we sure had a lot of fun! This was a great weekend with scale boaters from all around. Hats off to Marty and Al who ran a first class race.

Congratualtions to all participants and to David Jensen who really ran well through the weekend.

It truely is something to go to a race such as this and see and feel all the love of the sport. I had an awesome time and will tell anyone who asks about this fantastic event....Hats off to Marty and Al for a race to remember. On a side note my wifes cousin came to watch the races,he was hooked and brought coffee and donuts both mornings and stayed till the smell of NITRO was gone. Lets all do it again..................
