Speedmaster has some good stuff, if you think the problem is that it's too beefy or too big let's do some mods to it.

Any ideas? What parts need changing?

Mike

I really can’t say in public since I'm not an authorized Novarossi dealer....but I do know for a fact that I can beat any price for a new motor here in the USA. If you are interested.....only hitch is that it takes about 10 days for the items to arrive to me, before I get them out to you. Just drop me a line at [email protected] and I'll get you a price pretty quickly.
If there's enough interest, I may keep some items in my inventory so that they can go out to the end user immediately.

I highly recommend KB's prices, service and advice

Tom, on those Octura parts that you showed, Gary P. or others can get those pieces in BC also. I have the strut and rudder this way on the Wild Thing .12 .

lol Preston, you were just baiting the hook with that one, hehehe.
Ok, I'm busted!

FWIW, I run tidewater .21 hardware (roughly the same size as speedmaster stuff) and it smokes  I don't see any problems with to much weight, in fact I'm trying to get the prop to settle down as I have to MUCH lift in the rear with a V937 and a level strut. These newer .12 race motors have a lot of power and mine doesn't notice the weight. I would be more concerned with a super low friction driveline and low drag rudder than a few grams of tailweight. My 2 cents worth. 33 more and you get a phone call
But really I was trying to help these guys out by letting them know that you don't have to go to get extents to try and redesign the wheel here. You use the same strut and rudder for a .40 as you do a .21, or at least I do. Why should a .12 need to be half the size of a .21? Any of the quality hardware on the market should be fine.

Well, they probably had $300 dollar novarossi's to haul all that stuff back there -but that's besides the point.
Well, you don't expect a K&B to out run a MAC do you?

Yea I know Preston, the wining "A-Hydro" didn't use purple anodized hardware...
Maybe Kevin Bulifant can help me out on this one. You got purple Kevin?

I am not trying to be a know it all and I am sure my records won't stand the test of time. So who am I? Just trying to help by telling what has worked. It sounds like Clay is moving pretty good. Maybe he took some advice?

Eric, novarossi/mugen MT12= $150. Can't go wrong, the little d00d screams like a dremel on crack. affordability is the .12 class appeal ;)
