Ok, soo much about .12 riggers I thought I show a picture of mine in progress. unfortunately with my garage torn down building has stopped :(

This one is slated for plans only. It is designed to be a dedicated racing design. less forgiving than the FF12.... meaning smaller lighter no pull starts no 3-30 mounts..... a Radical Machine! on a small scale.

Maybe ill get it in the water this year...... i'm at my least favorite part of boat building...... installing the hardware and painting..... and with no garage it's just about impossible.

but here it is so far..... with 1/2 attached 1/2 taped on hardware for effect :)

Looks good.

I feel for you Tom, I had to put all my projects on hold during our move. It was 4 weeks before I got everything to where I could start building again. Building is one of my favorite parts. Don’t get me wrong, I love to run as well, but I really like to build! :D

When is your new garage due to being done?

Nice boat Tom!

Is that a lay down engine or an electric?   What engine are you going to use?

Don

i have a sirio 15 for it..... should be FAST!

I have a friend making the motor mount for me right now.

Any changes other than the narrow tub Tom? How deep are you running your rudders?

this is a completely new design. whats different than the ff12.... ummmm a littler overall smaller, only front adjustable boom tube, skinnier tub, 1/32 ply tub bottom. no engine bay doublers. lower profile tub. slightly different sponson angles..... basically everything..... this is designed for all out racing and nothing else.

Found this nice hardware setup from Octura. Looks like the perfect setup for a .12 rigger. I like the kick-up feature. I think I've seen it before on the board -just in case here it is again.

The one I found was from http://www.offshoreelectrics.com

Not bad price either, starts at $66.95 (unassembled flex) . Looks like a quick solution for hardware for just about any .12 project.

Hey it's not as flashy as the CNC T6 high-end stuff out there, but it's priced right. I may end up going with this setup on my next prototype...

Oh I forgot to mention it comes with a 24" long .130 flex cable, will work on just about any thing you can put a .12 size engine into.

Why not run the good stuff?

Speedmaster Strut $22.50

Speedmaster Rudder $39.95

Flex Shaft $16.95

$79.40 and it's assembled.

I'm running speed master on my current .12 boat, the rudder seems to be sized right. But the srut looks overkill. Does speedmaster have a smaller style 3/16 strut available?

speaking of the good stuff......I can get you the best price on a new .12 side exhaust or a .15 rear exhaust 8-port Novarossi. If you really want to go fast...put a the fastest motor in it B)

Hey Kevin how much are you getting for the .15, or can you say? I like the rear exhaust because the header selection is better for boats.

I really can’t say in public since I'm not an authorized Novarossi dealer....but I do know for a fact that I can beat any price for a new motor here in the USA. If you are interested.....only hitch is that it takes about 10 days for the items to arrive to me, before I get them out to you. Just drop me a line at [email protected] and I'll get you a price pretty quickly.

If there's enough interest, I may keep some items in my inventory so that they can go out to the end user immediately.

I'll be out of town until Tuesday....so I might not be able to get back to you before then.

I'm going to run the Sirio 12 in mine, and use the Octura aluminum running gear. The Speedmaster hardware is way too big and heavy.

lol Preston, you were just baiting the hook with that one, hehehe.

FWIW, I run tidewater .21 hardware (roughly the same size as speedmaster stuff) and it smokes ;) I don't see any problems with to much weight, in fact I'm trying to get the prop to settle down as I have to MUCH lift in the rear with a V937 and a level strut. These newer .12 race motors have a lot of power and mine doesn't notice the weight. I would be more concerned with a super low friction driveline and low drag rudder than a few grams of tailweight. My 2 cents worth. 33 more and you get a phone call :p

Not too big to set all the IMPBA "A" hydro records.
Well, they probably had $300 dollar novarossi's to haul all that stuff back there -but that's besides the point.

I've used both the .21 sized speed master stuff and some of the smaller electric hardware on my riggers and I'm still looking for something in between both of them. Can't really compare prizes bewteen set A and B unless you have an apples to apples comparison : .130 3/16 flex, teflon, lead -teflon bearings ect. Unless you want to run the .12 rigger with a 3/16 flex-cable...

Some of my comments regarding the speedmaster .21 hardware is that it requires a 1" tall transom -I had to modify my last design just to get the parts to fit. I would like to run with a 3/4 to 5/8 tall transom -but that's just me trying to think outside the box.

I've seen some flashy purple hardware on some of the latest .12 riggers (Tom's new prototpye rigger included) any more info on the purple stuff?

Yea I know Preston, the wining "A-Hydro" didn't use purple anodized hardware...

Eric

The included picture is of the berillium copper version, of what you posted, with dimensions. The cast alum rudders from octura that I have seen were very soft and I don't think they would hold up to the speed that a .12 rigger will do. The base that the hardware is sitting on is 6 inches in diameter. The mounting plate is .75 inches wide. Let me know if you need more dimensions.

the puple stuff is simply fullers hardware annodized.... it is from fine design.

i have the speedmaster stuff on my FF12 and it is fine..... but I also feel it is overkill. Mine has been modified.
