1/8 scale cracker box rudder placement ?

Hi all im in the process off installing hardware on the transom i noticed cracker boxes the rudder is mounted directly behind the prop.Is there any advantage to mounting the rudder behind the prop ? Or can i mount it to the starboard side a 1 1/4''to the right of the prop shaft ? Regards Andris Golts.

I wouldn't think there would be a handling/cornering issue offsetting the rudder.
