What is the smallest mAh 4s 20to 60c Lipo is need to safely finish a normal start clock & heat race. I am more concerned with weight then the number of heats. Sooner change the battery after each heat then haul around to much weight
This doesn't really answer your question, but I've been running nano-tech 5000 mAh 25-50C Discharge batteries for 2 years and they work. You can check the weight on the Hobby King website.

The reason for the ?? I was more looking to try and save weight by going to say a 4s 2 or 3000 mHa. I read in Ur build thread when Ur THE BOAT crashed the broke the sponson, noise the thing either came close or did sink. Plus less weight means better acceleration. I have bought many many nano-tech LiPos from Hobby King for my scale cars. Just recycled about 50+ Lipos cause no one wants to buy Used battery's.
The build is progressing nicely. I'll post up some pic's in the next day or so AGN TNX for the input
