I am just looking on making my own design sponsons and rigger back sponsons/shoes.
These will be for a 43" to 58" long rigger tub.
What I am looking is on plans, any ideas on step by step building good quality wood sponsons. I will make my own design. I am just learning...
Thank you.

Scott:
My inline gas RCMK 520-s block inline Hurricane rigger is 38 and 3/4 inches long by 5.33" wide. I have a spacing between the rear part of the Sponsons of 17.25" . In the front part of the sponsons there is a spacing between them of 17.00" . The back riding surface of the sponsons are...
Just to keep up with this topic of using inline gas engines, What you think about the following picture? :o
This is how we know the RCMK 520-s is a great engine...

Rigged: The boat should run faster with larger sponsons in the front, which are comming by mail this Thursday.
I used self modded ABC's series 2918, 3016 cupped, with tips.
The boat floats well withouth front sponsons if you just fill up with closed cell flat foam the radio box compartment...
I own two Aeromarine Vectors. My blue color Vector has a 26cc Quick Draw High Torque engine and is at 61-63mph on the straight. It truly handles well the turns and Buyis... Very competitive. In "You Tube" look for Trent Gottas Vector. There are 2 videos on Mr. Gottas running his black color...
Rigged: Once I see that this rigger is competitive, at the same level, or close to the level of the already established gas double engine riggers , then I will consider run it on a national event. In between, we will enjoy "twiking" around it and run it on local races...
Cheers,
Luis.
I have received a couple of e-mails and calls with respect to the dimentions needed to place an RCMK-520s Inline X2 engine in a gas rigger.
If you were to apply the Gizmo or the RCMK engine mounts and add to this an Easy Pull Starter and a round flex cable Collet, these are the dimentions:
1...
I use Flat Pool Flotation Cell Foam. This is difficult to get here in Florida, USA. Then use thick / red label CA and spray "CA kicker". Also, lately I have used the "NEW Gorilla Glue X2 Fast". It dries in 20-30 minutes, and it truly holds the foam in place.

Just putted in the 23cc modded Zenoahs jugs and pistons, and started the engine. It sounds good ! Awaiting for new sponsons to arrive by mail this week.

OK Guys...
I think I got fairly good news...
Went Saturday with Ross Medina , Harry, and Lupe Perez and had truly successful uneventfull day with this double engine gas inline rigger. Some points I need to clear.
1. I am running with modded 28.cc heads / pistons. It seemed excessive and...
Here are some pictures:
1. Aluminum outside " bushing Isolators" for motor mount. This helps with engine vibration and bolt loosening or wood "deshisance" upon engine running. These are specialy made by Ross Medina. These are the first set ever tested.
2. Pipes clamps / holders. (These are...
I did a "salt water pool" Flotation test last night. After a minute, the front sponsons and middle of the rigger tub sank, leaving on the surface back transon and prop. This is not good.... so I added extra foam flotation to the front IV bag cabin, around the engine, and on the transon cabin as...
Club Racer:
You are completely right with respect to the NAMBA and IMPBA engine specifications. For this reason I have modded two 26cc Zenoah cylinders and pistons, and two 231cc Zenoahs cylinders and pistons. We will first send the boat to the water with these 28.5 cc heads and see what...
Just to you this project. It is a Hurricane Gas Rigger that the tub has been modified to accept an RCMK 520s inline gas engine. The cylinders are two 28.5 cc Zenoahs and modded pistons, with Zero Drag seals, etc... Self modded...
The boat is made of a combination of G-10 plastics and wood. The...
