Apples to Oranges. Cant compare weight of a Twin Nitro to Twin Gas. Both of your engines probably still weighs less then one gas engine.

Gas Twins have still managed to win 3 out of 4 of the Nitro vs Gas Twin shootouts though

Someone needs to make a 2 into 1 equal length header and a pipe to work with both motors , some money to be made there i would imagine , now lets get crackin header and pipe guy's .

NFS makes custom headers and he makes pipes maybehe'll do something

Man that is a tough one !! ... Sponson size of fronts and rears needs to be larger than a single, Tub length and sealed radio box space needs to be maximized.

Sticking an inline where a single was is just sadly asking for a scuba diver in the foreseeable future

Doing as you have placing pieces of "SECURED" pool noodles is about best you can do IMO.

May sound ugly and is most definitely a bandaid may be using some 1/4 or 3/8" poly foam sheet attached to top of sponsons and alongside tub.

As a scuba diver the rules of flotation are pretty clear ....

Whatever the items shape, the weight of the water displaced by it's shape must be greater than the weight of the item in question for item too float. Thus why bulk with minimal weight floats better than same weight having less bulk.

If you can add exterior bulk that displaces more water while sitting in it, better it's going to float while a dead duck

Luis bring it out on Sunday. would like to see it run. Can't be worse than what my SGX90 did the last time you were there. Still have not got it back to geather from that mess.

OK Guys...

I think I got fairly good news...

Went Saturday with Ross Medina , Harry, and Lupe Perez and had truly successful uneventfull day with this double engine gas inline rigger. Some points I need to clear.

1. I am running with modded 28.cc heads / pistons. It seemed excessive and possibly will confirm that 26cc or 23cc heads / pistons will do as well on this engine with this rigger.

2. The boat did not sank and floated on the middle of the lake withouth problems; completly visible. This happened once.

3. Will need bigger sponsons in lenght and width to lift front nose and make the props used avoid some of the cavitation, as well as avoid the tendency for the front bow of the rigger have a tendency to touch water and reduce speed as the prop cavitates...

4. The engine is easy to start and I am using regular non-modded 257 Walbro carburators.

Next changes:

1. Change heads and pistons to TWO 231 modded Zenoahs.

2. Wait for the two new larger sponsons from Sergio Perez. I should receive them by mail in the next 5-7 days.

Here is a video of yesterday,s run. In this video I am using an ABC 3016 two blades modded propeller with some added cupping.

Just putted in the 23cc modded Zenoahs jugs and pistons, and started the engine. It sounds good ! Awaiting for new sponsons to arrive by mail this week.

I have received a couple of e-mails and calls with respect to the dimentions needed to place an RCMK-520s Inline X2 engine in a gas rigger.

If you were to apply the Gizmo or the RCMK engine mounts and add to this an Easy Pull Starter and a round flex cable Collet, these are the dimentions:

1. From the front end of the pull starter to the tip end of the collet,(with the flex cable already tight inside the collet), the full lenght is

9 1/4 inches long.

2. The distance between the motor mounts bushing outside bolts. (That is, the distance from the center of buching bolt is 8 1/8 inches.

Knowing the above information we now know that a healthy motor cabin area should be no less than 13.5 inches of lenght.(This is not counting the front IV bag / gas tank cabin).

CAUTION: The RCMK 520-s engine FRONT mount / front plate, is NOT compatible with any existant mounts in the USA market! Thus only www.gizmomotors or RCMK of Korea can sell you this mount!

Rigged: Once I see that this rigger is competitive, at the same level, or close to the level of the already established gas double engine riggers , then I will consider run it on a national event. In between, we will enjoy "twiking" around it and run it on local races...

not sure if im going... kinda boring to drive to race 1 boat. If i know more gas cats are entered, i will probably go..

Luis..the boat looked good. Would like to see what it does with 4-5 boats in the water with it. What prop was that with?

Rigged: The boat should run faster with larger sponsons in the front, which are comming by mail this Thursday.

I used self modded ABC's series 2918, 3016 cupped, with tips.

The boat floats well withouth front sponsons if you just fill up with closed cell flat foam the radio box compartment, the rear transon compartmentment, the front IV bag compartment and around the engine. It will float at the back and sink 2/3 of the tub. Not bad at all if you happen to loose sponsons and floating cowling.

Do the test: I did it in my pool by spraying everything with "Corrotion X" before the test, and removing batteries and receiver. :lol:
