    Cleaning up the shop!

I shipped an 1/8th scale a couple of months ago FED EX from Seattle to Florida for $245 and built a cheapo crate for $50. But yes please check it out with $1000 insurance. Thanks, Mike

    Cleaning up the shop!

Thanks. I kind of doubt that there's going to be anyone from the Pacific NW there but maybe someone will see this and come forward. You have a sale plus shipping costs of course if you change your mind.

    Cleaning up the shop!

Hi Chris, how much for just the hull and cowling of the gas 7474 (and if you are willing to do it) shipped to 98155? Also, if you are willing the motor mount as well or tell me what it is so I can try to find one? Thanks, Mike

    Blue Oval Sweeps

I don't know Mike. I know one thing and that's that the truck series guys need to clean up how they race. Ridiculous just dumping anyone that gets in your way. I ran what was known as the Super Stock class back in the 70's. Retired steel bodies Winston West cars but with a 5 liter displacement...

    Blue Oval Sweeps

This time they found all the nuts and didn't leave any at all for the squirrels wearing bowties:cool:! Across the board those Roush/Yates motors made for great grunt off the corners and handling down the straights.

    7PXR Failsafe Mystery-thoughts/advice

You just never knew with the 75's what might hit you. Where we race at Marysville Washington is known as twin lakes because it's two lakes separated by probably 150' of woods, brush and an access road. One of our guys lost the radio in his boat and it hit a log on the beach at Mach 10 wiping it...

    7PXR Failsafe Mystery-thoughts/advice

Easiest way to find out is to go around the switch and plugging the battery directly into the RX and if the problem goes away you have your culprit. I think bad switches account for a lot of totaled boats from radio failure I've seen over the years. You can't see the corrosion. One of the really...

    Cmb gas engines

I bought a big block Zenoah with the Zenoah case instead of their billet case because it would sit power in the boat. Only good things come in terms of the boat ride by lowering the CG.

    Vintage Mystery 1/8 Miss US

That's one strange rudder setup. My first boat had 2-S148 standard nylon gear Futaba rudder servos in tandem with common linkage and weighed about 22 bs. I don't think you would ever want to take a side hit that's for sure!

How to blend a seam you don't want?

I like using West Systems with a generous portion on the 410 balloons over Bondo. It sands easy and is tough. Stronger and lighter with increased adhesiveness. Used razor knife blades make great spreaders for blending.

    Turbine Tube Suggestions?

The nice thing about using wood is they float. If you haven't had one knocked off yet, you will. Especially on boats like the Pak where the tube goes all the way to the transom. If you are going to use plastic bottles, it's just as easy to make a spare one. When I was running winged boats I...

    Clear over windshield?

If it's a clear vacuum formed bubble like the canopy of a modern scale hydroplane or ocean racing boat you want to sand the inside starting with 600 and finishing with 1500. When you shoot the clear on it the inside will look very transparent. if you are applying paint on the outside of the...

    Electric starters for gas boats

I don't understand why NAMBA wouldn't simply do what a lot of racing sanctioning bodies do and have approved motors or motor pieces and work with a couple of vendors to make them exclusively available and if they are tampered with you get fined. When I look around at a race there's a lot of us...

    Pipe Mufflers

Yes, I would like to order one so that I can add the silicone extension out the back. The setup I"m using is a 105 degree header with a Gizmo stainless hot pipe. I think that I would like the longest and quietest muffler. My hearing already kinda sucks, even when it's not selective. Turns out...
