Tom use this stuff. Made by FGCI. Its thick kind of like vaseline. Bonds to both fiberglass and wood I havent found anything it wont bond with. They are in the St. Pete area. Commercial grade smokes hobby shop products. Don Pinckert told me about it in Brandon years ago, Jeff Lutz
Twin class was created so it would be its own class. After it was an official class, I myself asked Mark Bullard who was very involved at the time (still is) to propose upping the displacement limit so you could run bigger engines. I said make it around 1.1 to cover what was available and...
Mike, the 6201 is the new PTO side bearing on the .91/.101 Mline series CMB big blocks. It’s still a 6001 on the carb side. SKF part number is E2.6201-2Z /C3. So a set for the new Mlines would be a 6001,6201. It also has a needle bearing which I don’t have the part number for at this moment...
Hey Al, no doubt the WIB bearings are fantastic also. Jim Allen had a lot of education from Henry Nelson. He bought a large quantity of bearings from Henry because he knew Henry bought a very large quantity that helped assure the balls were the same size within +-.000010 and they had a slightly...
I haven’t seen anyone mention flexing. Me and a few others have talked about the bearing getting out of round. The 90/101 Evo’s in the past flex enough to break the crank pin, but the little 6001 bearings hold up fine. They are held properly. Cmb made the crank pin bigger to help. Now they have...
The main reason for the big bearing failures in Vac .91’s is the case fit that it goes in. The upper half of the bearing is only held by a small amount of material and is hanging out a lot. Unequal interference fit and the bearing is not staying round. A K90 had a big bearing of the same ID...
Oh yea, I knew you were referring to boat only. I just expanded that into the full combo and it’s probably more like $1,300 for a Jae combo not including a radio. But 1/8th buggies can cost $1,800 in a heartbeat.
I saw a ad with you looking for Crapshooters for your boys. Surely you didn’t tell them they could get one for $350 shipped, possibly? I mention that only off the $350 offer for the SG 90. I’d say they could get into a Jae .45 combo for about what a team 1/8th nitro buggy would cost.
Als engine is $385 but you have to buy a carb, make it $485 plus the $100 kit plus shipping. Still need a header, pipe, collet, prop, flex shaft, drive dog, servos, paint, tank, epoxy, etc, etc. I’m thinking $1,100-$1,250ish… for a Jae combo?
Sure, I knew you mistyped. Haha ..I tested aluminum versus brass years ago on CMB 100 engines. It’s not as drastic of a change as you would think and performance was close also.
