As a “Consultant” you should advise your client to start with something else if they can’t comprehend the cost of a twin. And advise that it’s not about the cost…it’s about ability.
But for a comparison, my twin cost about $200 in hull and sponson materials.
About $500 in design and developing the cowling mold for vacuum infusion.
And +20yrs of trying to figure it all out.

I’m not the best so take the above with a grain of salt, this is the internet after all.

I will pass the info along.

If I were building twins in wood/composites I would charge around $1200-$1500 depending on the design and construction. Price would be dependent on how much I could laser cut vs how much required hand cutting/finishing. Slab sponsons are cheap and easy to make compared to Crapshooter/SST like sponsons.

If you wanted an all composite twin CNC routered from platen pressed carbon/Divinycell it would be close to $5k. Example:All carbon sandwich single rigger.

I designed that one all in CAD, had acrylic templates laser cut and bought a 4x8 sheet of the 1/4" Divinycell from Dragonplate. It takes me about 10-12 hours to design a single rigger in CAD these days, maybe 20-25 for a new twin. And then another 40-50 hours to cut and glue together over several weeks.
 
Taking in the fact that Mark Andersons gets 1100 for his mongrel gas rigger. This is for an 85% boat. If you double that for the twin set up, your looking at 2200 without paint, radio, stuffing box, and drivelines. This for a glass boat with foam/wood sponsons. I would add another 300 to deal with the twin factor. Say 2500.

All hand cut and assembled with a fit epoxy glass cowl .$1500 for a sealed hull, add hardware and your well over $2000. After seeing what others charge I'm low and need to raise my prices!

Mike is a bit low. At least for what I would charge for a twin. They are a lot of work. I would only do a ready to paint completely built with all proprietary hardware. I will not paint someone elses boat, but setting up a twin is different than a single. Mike and I both learned the hard way. You supply the motors, pipes and servos that I spec $3500. Epoxy glass tub/wood over foam sponsons.
