I just finished my second race this season with my ZIPPKITS PRO-VEE, which I built myself this spring. No big thing, you might say, but I am almost 69 and have built only one other kit ever (except plastic car models), and that was a balsa airplane, when I was 16. It crashed immediately after takeoff. Needless to say, I went into the build with a little apprehension about the results. I read and re-read the voluminous manual, then started the build. AS SUGGESTED, I had a perfectly flat building surface. I am quite glad I did, because I have heard three different stories about kit built boats that came out twisted. The pieces were all perfectly laser cut and fitted extremely well. Almost all of the pieces were individually laser marked. When in doubt, I just followed the instructions and proceeded carefully. If I had a question, Joe (Petro) was always quick to answer my e-mails. I had a couple mis-steps - chalk that up to inexperience as a kit builder - but nothing catastrophic. The result is one big, beautiful racing mono that is certainly the fastest boat I have ever run, and this weekend, it held it's own against a couple other pretty fast gas monos at our race. I am still working out some of the fine tuning, like the trim tab settings, but Joe has been there all the way with me with helpful suggestions and "moral support" when I came up against something I didn't know or couldn't figure out. I have to reiterate what has been said here many times - his kits are first rate and his support is second to none. I am looking forward to this boat providing a lot of great racing experience for me in the future. Joe is not just a friend and a colleague in this industry, he is one of the best in my book.

Hey Fred Joe just told me today you had built it. Said you had done a nice job. It sounds like you had some fun with the build and running it.Stay on it and you will be getting around those faster boat boats before long.

Have fun

I have always ran RIGGER only, but develops an interest for first gas mono to maybe have a little fun with friends and club members that run them at races, Done know much about mono's, but have to say the PRO-VEE GAS MONO is one of most fun builds I've done. Simple straight and to the point along with the best instructions book and pictures ever.

The hardware set-up is simple and with a little run time on the hull, it should become a very good running and fun boat for you. Joe has always been helpful !! HAPPY RACING.

The level of support Mr. Petro brings to this little boating world of ours remains unmatched. Thanks for all you do Joe!
