help!

my cheap-a$$ Futaba 2 channel stick radio just fell apart on its 3rd day at the pond, and i've got a race coming up this sunday....does anyone have a 2 or 3 channel FM/AM radio that they'll sell??

Joe

Joe, sorry to hear about your luck. :p Yea, I have a few older Futaba AM pistol radios.. The one in the middle is a Mag AM.. I have two of them. Do you need receivers?

Mark...

i've got a couple of the standard futaba recievers...are any of them channel 60? what's the one on the left?

Joe

One on the left, I believe, is the first Mag Jr Futaba came out with.. I know that one should only go up or down 2 channels (four if you count the odd channels), but I've been up and down the channel range and never had a problem. Don't recall which channel this came with so many years ago. Last time I used it, within 5 years anyway, it worked just fine. It can be setup with forward only, good option for boats. The one on the right, is a second or third generation Mag AM. Forgot, I have another of those also. That one has been altered for forward only. Do ya need extra crystals? I have a few of those also, like around 15 sets - all used. I'm into 27 FM style now, so these are collecting dust...

Joe, let me put it this way.. The one on the left is most likely older than you ;D ;D ;D

oh... : :)

do you have anything a little better? i just dont wanna have the same thing happen again... :-[ :p

Joe

Lax,

Sounds like you might be covere on the radio but if you feel like you need another radio I have an FM Futaba two channel PCM w/three channel receiver that are on 68. For $60 that will cover shipping in the USA

Joe,

You might want to grab RCB2's radio.. Don't think you can top that..

Mark...

BTW, I'd run my boats with any of my AM radios.. Reason for our switch was we have so many things.. NP and EP buggies / trucks, RC10NDS and around 22 boats. Not all boats are setup to run or built for that matter. Radio's we have offer 10 model settings.. Having multiple radios became a pain to carry all around.

rcb2 and obnut...after the experience at the pond today, i really dont care much about special features or anything, im just looking for the more reliable radio....would that be the Magnum AM or PCM FM?? ???

i really dont know....btw, thanks for replying so quickly.

Joe

Joe, if you've got the $$, get PCM. You're not going to beat $60 shipped.
I concure with PJ...

OUCH,, did I just say what I think I said... ;D ;D

OB NUT Racing: Just mess'n with PJ ;) ;)
