Looking for old two piece P-80.

Blown-up is fine.

Does not have to be in running condition.

Thanks!

Mike,

Thanks for posting the photo.

That is the EXR five port. One piece case.

I am looking for the older P-80 4 port. Two piece case. They were made through 1980s.

But I could use an EXR that has a bad crankcase such as a rod sticking out the side or a liner stuck in it. So basically an irreparable engine.

Looking for some junk on the cheap.

Hi Andy-

Will the 2 piece Ducted Fan 13cc Picco's work for your intent?... I think the case can be rotated 180° to orient the

exhaust rearward... I know where 2 are at and fairly certain they can be had cheap.

If I can procure them, would you be willing to do some some swapping for SGX raw, uncut cowls?

Thanks-

Tim

Tim, Yes those will work and the cowl deal will work. Let me know.

Thanks!

Andy-

Spoke with my associate earlier this evening and the DF engines in question are OPS 80 Supers.

He said he hadn't really thought about selling them.

My apologies to you for the mis-info... not sure how I got that twisted after only 25 yrs.+.

We'll keep our eyes out for anything that pops up.

Thanks-

Tim

Thanks for checking Tim!
You're welcome, Andy... sorry we couldn't be more use. Was talking to the guy again today and he tells me I told him to get the

P-80's, but he went and got the Super 80's because of the steel rod/ roller big end setup...

... so, being that was

back around 1990ish and I hadn't seen him in a long time, let alone discuss glow engines, I had assumed he went the P-80 route.

Fair assumption, but then there's that word 'assume', and it can bite ya.

Again, sorry, and thanks-

Tim

The roller rods in those OPS 80s worked well. Past IMPBA President Joe Ingrao ran a pair of those in his Twin 80 Mongoose.

Joe won lots or races with that set up and never had any issue with the rods or the engines.

Actually the rods are aluminum with a steel insert for the rollers.

Thanks again Tim!

Building Frankenstein? Stay away from Wilfong lol
David is Dr. Frankenstein's great great grandson! I occasionally peek into his laboratory to make sure he does not create something that will annihilate all of mankind. LOL

Oh, I see... yeah, this guy told me they were steel roller rods, but he's not that well versed on engines. He never did get his ducted fan

aircraft program off the ground. The aluminum inserted with steel insert sounds interesting.

As far as 13cc engines go, I sure wish Picco was still in the game and the MAC's were being produced.

Got back in the game too late to experience the MAC ATTACK era.

Andy, what would it take to resurrect the MAC program, and update the design if need be?... probably a fair assumption that you

have the plans to them, huh. It sure would be great to have a competitive domestic engine option.

Thanks, Andy, and best wishes on your Picco hunt.

Tim
