If you are still concerned with the "fit". A few of my buddy's have used the Liner Squeezer with excellent results.

I think you guy's are missing what's going on here , he bought a motor from a member here and was told that the motor was in good shape , now what would you guy's expect the seller to do for you if this happened to you, i was once put in this predicament and i did replace the parts it took awhile but i got them for the buyer.

I would either want my money back or for the seller to replace the parts that where needed and if the seller didn't want to help me out at all he should be nown to everyone on this forum , so everyone no's what there dealing with or that member should be kicked off this forum for either for a period of time or for ever.

We don't need the people on here ripping anyone off , that we should be able to trust

The guy that sold the motor may have very well have had excellent performance with his setup as others have testified. Granted the motor is not performing well in its current environment. You can't really expect anybody to measure the fit of a P&S. When you buy used then you get what you get. Let's not throw such big rocks.

So your saying that i can sell you something that is crap as long as i think it's ok , i can say to bad i think you got a deal suck it up , i don't think so
It happens everyday. Just because it is on here and not Ebay does not mean a thing. I can't tell you how many people have said how smoking hot their boat was and the you see it or race against it and find out the truth. Your standards and somebody else's probably are not the same. It's just like the 70mph 20 hydro deal. So many think they have one and even swear by it. But there probably is not 10 of them in the U.S.

If you are selling what you think is crap then you obviously ripped somebody off. Not the case here. If you sell what what you think is good at a reasonable price then it is a good transaction.

The piston and sleeve fit means nothing. Some like them tight. Then some lap them until the tightness is gone. I had a Picco 45 that I sold on here and the P&S looked like garbage. Pitted and scared SEVERELY. There basically was no fit. BUT. It ran 88mph in my boat so it was worth what I got for it. I did not hear any whining from the guy that bought it either.

Bottom line is buyer beware. Maybe if the buyer is nice and the seller agrees then the deal can be reversed. But no reason to be on here slinging mud.

Preston , i have always had good look with a loose motor , rpm's are great , it 's just you should advertise what your selling and don't lie about it , if it's scored or worn tell the buyer , that way this dosen't happen agian.

Tom your doing a great job , don't worry you self

Na....

I don't whine, especially when I'm buying a 45 Crapshooter with 2 Picco Blackheads that both run in the 80s for a thousand bucks :)

But I do have to say that Preston had full disclosure when he sold me the boat. He did tell me about the gouged piston in the one motor and everything else about the package. I'm still a happy camper. :D

Preston, That's an awesome Shooter, the new one just isn't there yet.

And it also depends on the seller and their conscious. IF THEY HAVE ONE that is. I sold a used 3.5 OB here and the buyer complained of leakdown in the cylinder. Knowing damned well the motor only had 6 tanks of fuel through it when I sold it, I know, I bought it new, I offered to split the cost of a new P/S and did so. My reputation means more to me than just a few bucks.

But I have to agree with most of you, I have a Novarossi SS OB that triple stages on my Lynx and it's the loosest motor I own.

Not at all. Just repeating verbaly what happened to my topic in this forum by you. Frankly this topic has my old one beat by miles with names and mud being thrown around and it looks like it's still up and running? I thought you stopped all topics that got into the bad sales area.

Pease,

John

I'd like to buy this motor, I need it for a new winter project, contact me if you're interested in selling it.

Ive bought good and bad, when i bought bad i cried a little and went on. A lot depends on the seller and his knowledge of what he is selling, i bought a used motor that was a guys backup. He had never fired it. Turned over good felt sweet. But when i put it in a boat it went to hell in a hand basket. My advise be sure the seller is willing to represent it and back it up before you buy. In some cases a really cheap deal with no backup could be a great deal or a turd. Remember you get what you got and got what you get. Motors are the worst if buying used, not all boaters oil and clean as they should...... im done back to my nap

So if you payed good money for a motor and was told it was in excellent condition and the P/S fit was very nice and you got the motor and took it apart to find the piston was pitted the top of the motor case was severly pitted hte piston came through the top of the sleeve and then t when you imformed the seller and was pretty much told to go to hell. Teel me you wouldnr be pissed.

Billy,

I hear you and agree with you. What was done was truly misrepresented to you if the info you noted was correct. Unless he makes it good with you, he will be off the seller list for many of us here. A lot of what we do on this site and others like it is based upon trust and correct representation of what is for sale. When that is violated then they are off the radar for good.

John
