I don't think I will be at the speed run. It's Mothers Day weekend and our daughter is coming for the weekend. Give me a call and I could meet you somewhere almost any day next week so you could get the stuff before the speed run.

Later. Bill

Mike,

Thanks for the picture. I'll have to work on that. I like the ball joints as retainers. The fit on mine is pretty tight with the o-riing, but I like the insurance policy.

And Bill, I will give you a call.

Curtis and Mike,

You guys appear to be cooling the glow plug - have you found that to be an advantage?

About 30 years ago, I remember John Ackerman was doing that. (Or was it Marty Davis???) I can't remember what the verdict was back then.

In Marty Davis' old tech notes he said he could run a point or two more compression without detonation when capping and cooling the plug.

Bob,

I don't have any experience with this engine yet, but this is the way it came from the factory. Interesting design.

I don’t like it.. (bleeping turbo plug).. When the plug goes it goes. The diff between a point or two just is not worth the "engineering" to cool the plug.

I will say this however.. This is WITHOUT QUESTION.. the strongest 21 I have ever raced. My nova LS and CMB 21s did not RPM like this motor does. It makes GOBS of power..

I have some of the new OS 21s and want to get them out for testing too. If I felt like I needed to take a 20 hydro to race NO QUESTION I would start with this motor. (I cannot say how I would feel with this motor in a mono..just not sure, I would need do a bunch of testing)

Bob,

It's the OS Vz-M.

It looks like a great engine, but it calls for a turbo plug and the cooling plug that removes to access the plug.

Mike, I would be happy to pull out the VZ-M and put one of those new OS engines in to test. You just let me know.
