This Video Does Show Buck dive bombing to a open inside lane about the time we all rounded #6 hitting the throttle. my boat got hit on the right rear corner... Not the left corner..... He did get blown off the water...... Otiz hit the start and was GONE....... somehow 2 laps later I drew a DQ by Rick Bellinger after being called a Good Start????? I guess Buck **** did not know he ran up my ass on my right rear corner on the start or had not seen any video?? Hint Buck.... You left parts & paint stuck into my boat on the right rear corner.... Trying to swing from lane 6 to 2. I rode off to the left deep on lap 2 to let Chuck have clean water & race with Ortiz after Rick screams DQ 2 laps later?? Ortiz Stuffed in the rear off #3 and dropped a engine.... Never the less. One of our team mates Chuck was in Victory Circle........ Congrats to all of the Roadrunner Team Members that ran Very Well and Team Roadrunner Wins 3 years in a Row........ & all is Good!!! The Final was English,Beals,Warren, Simmons, Buck & Ortiz....... English had problems in the rear & never made a lap after launching... parked it on the offshore buoy.. And Beals dropped a engine on mill #2 and was floating on the inside of the race course left of the clock....... Congrats To Charles Simmons 2013 Atlanta Spring Nats Twin Champion!!!! it has been a Long Road to Get There & I`am glad to See Him Win it!!!!!!! He has blown up a lot of stuff to get there.......

Backpedal off buoy 3 while on the lead looking for your dead boat. Did not know you parked of the offshore buoy and unhooked the turn fin and stuffed I went.

Ultimately we pilot twin boats stay what I would consider civil. I am proud of racing with you all guys.

Tom....you said it right..........I had laided back on the front, when I rounded three Mark said " find a hole and bring it!" I did. Right between Joe and Jose. I left Joe no room on the right at six. Saw BuckShot outside of Joe as I was coming into five. Check up when I got to Joe. Saw BuckShot on joe's Rooster as I when Guns!!!! Dose it look like that in the video.....???? We discussed the DQ and the events in the trailer after the race. As far as I am concerned nothing intentional happen and it all happened in a blink.............but I was focused on the whoole picture as I an in it as well....

Ultimately we pilot twin boats stay what I would consider civil. I am proud of racing with you all guys. I second that Jose'

I love the reaction from the guy with the camera , I think he $%^& his pants , people need to have more respect for these twins they are haulin ass and can be out of control in a heart beat.

Great race guys. B)

 watch on slow something turn fin or piece flew up ? who damaged on sponson?

Joe,

Setting the record straight. Standing up, my right hand high in the air!!

Yep, after watching the video that was not the right call. But it was my call, and I called it into a dead microphone when it happened. Rick called it over the PA as soon as it was restored. I / we still don't know what happened to the power, PA, whatever............... No conspiracy, you have my word.

We all took our jobs as CDs / referees, very seriously and made the calls as we saw them.

Three of us not counting Rick saw the same thing, real time. And honestly, if it wasn't for that I'd be hesitant to ever take on that job again.

We have all taken our lumps at the hands of a CD. It's a tough job. Things happen very quickly. Mistakes are going to happen. We are human and don't have the benefit of an instant replay, I wish we did.

I'm glad things worked out for team Roadrunner, and I'm glad you are taking it like a sportsman.

Having said that. I'm offering you my personal apology, and an apology on behalf of the AMB, and the Spring Nats. CD committee.

I am sorry for the error.

Tim that is George ( his last name escapes me at the moment) . He is a professional photographer and has been covering the Spring Nats. for over 10 years. He has the utmost respect for the model boats. ;)

Anyone that attended this race will tell you that safety was at the top of the AMBs list. B)

Not sure how having a guy standing on a dock just off six while six twins are hitting the start is a smart move ,especially when he clearly wasn't paying attention.

I only mentioned it because I loved his reaction when he realised the boat was coming directly toward him.

Not trying to start something here but you may want to revisit the safety procedures. B)

Tim,

I do appreciate for your concern for safety. It is the responsibility of all of us.

George is a professional photographer. He has been taking pictures at the Spring Nationals for over 10 years.

He is well aware of the inherit hazards of his job and carries his own insurance.

One of the first things I did as Records Director was get passed the BOD some additional safety measures at our Record Trials.

We in D13 were the first to make wrist bands for drivers and pit men mandatory.

The Spring Nationals was covered from stem to stern with netting and caution tape. Safety was on the agenda as was noted by Mr. Ortiz on the other thread. We are on the same page.

On another note. Our past president approached me at the race about being our National Safety Director. I declined as I have a full plate already holding two positions on the BOD, club duties, family, and a business.

It would be great to have a guy like you in that position. Please consider it and contact Keven Sheren or Chris Rupley if you are interested as that seat is still empty.

I'd be happy to discuss this with you further. My email address and phone number can be found on the IMPBA website.

Very sorry to trash your thread Charles. Congratulations again!

Thanks guys,

Doug

Your welcome Joe and thank you sir! B) I'm already looking forward to the 40th anniversary of the Atlanta Spring Nationals.

Ok Doug... you can pull your head out of Joe's ARSE,the race is over. :) The AMB club did a GREAT JOB in pulling off one of the best race's that I have had the pleasure of going to in a while . Chuck is correct in thanking "EVERY" vendor that helped sponsor this event, and especially to the one's that came to the event. There is no way that we could have the great running boats that we have without these guy's being there to supply us with all the goodies we need to keep these boats afloat. I would also like to thank everyone who worked behind the scene that helped me get things going, you know who you are...Now back to District 3 racing,West Palm is this wkend.
