With the topography out there and other weather phenomenon, prevention and containment is difficult at best. The hills/mountains help with creating the winds that help push the fires along. 70mph winds behind the fire basically turns it into a blowtorch. I've seen a few areas where it jumped 6 freeway lanes.
They've got water management. Problem is they haven't gotten much rain in the last few years. Call it weather or climate or whatever, the trend has been hotter and dryer.

We're about to see their "Water Management" fully revealed soon if lake Mead gets much lower. California's water management program for the past 40+ years consists of nothing more than winning court battles with adjacent states and the USBR, then sucking the Colorado river dry as they have done for the past 80+ years.

With agriculture being so critical out there things are in a shambles. In the 70's the radical environmentalists made the farmers the enemy and stupidity has prevailed ever since. It's really a shame.

I was thinking the same thing. What I found even more interesting is it fits that phony in the White House named Joe Biden.
Can you imagine how he would feel if he couldn't fly to Delaware on the people's dime or had to buy his own gas and food while in Washington DC? I can hear him crying about it already

So the lack of any form of precipitation in the southwest is the left's fault.
That's an absurd comment and completely off base to my point. Democrats run California and have for decades.

Climate change is well documented. It's a fact. Historical Drought The democratic solution is some snake oil climate control hogwash and shove electric cars up everyone's a$$. If there were democrats around 3 million years ago I suppose the T-Rex would still roam the earth - they could have simply banned Fossil Fuels and all would have worked out just fine.

They are completely unprepared for what is happening to Lake Mead right now and heavily dependent on Colorado river water as they have been for decades.

Instead of spending $100B on water projects and fire fighting equipment, they squander $100B on this clusterphuk: Cost overruns hit California bullet train again amid a new financial crunch

Gross government incompetence led by democrats. All they're good at is driving business away and the cost of living to the breaking point.

It's going to collapse, not a question of if, but a matter of when.

And then, of course, you have the George Soros affiliated DAs and mayors that think that violent kids can be better rehabilitated if they aren't sent to juvenile detention for things such as this:

Just read this gem last night, it's already doubled in cost estimates, now up to a trillion-

"The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Business Model calculates that President Joe Biden’s new student loan cancellation plan could cost over $1 trillion, depending on the program’s final parameters and people’s response to it. Biden announced on Wednesday that he was unilaterally canceling up to $10,000 student loan debt for individuals earning $125,000 or less and families making $250,000 or less. For those who received Pell Grants, they will be eligible for up to $20,000 in debt forgiveness, with the same income thresholds."

That's an additional debt burden of $4,200 per U.S. taxpayer. While I'm 100% against this as the debt will be paid for by our taxes, it would have been a little more palatable if it was for say those making less than 40-50k a year. I bet there's a whole lot of people out there who busted their azzes to pay off their student loans who are really pissed right now, what a total slap in the face. And BTW anyone pulling a 6 figure or even a high 5 figure salary and not paying off their student loan is a piece of schitt....................

Obviously you have no idea what "Super Imperialism" is, and if you did, you would probably be very upset over how it was all squandered . It is very impractical to try to explain it here in this forum, it took a 400+ page book to explain it to me, but essentially with the 50 year Dollar hegemony we in the US had, all social programs form Social Security to education, could of been paid for by other countries. With no taxes paid by US workers. But instead it went to the MIC, CIA, World Bank and anti-neo-liberal regime change policy, around the world. And this is why we have the rise of the BRICS nations, and the decline of the west.
And besides, you seem to miss the fact that this Student loan debt forgiveness, need not be paid at all by tax payers, and this narrative is just used to 'rouse the rabble', to create division within the working class. Because in reality, the monies created for the student loans in the first place, was "printed" out of thin air by the US treasury, given to the Fed who gave it to the banks, for virtually nothing (no taxes involved). And so the banks themselves should just write it down as a loss, and really the only thing they lost, was the interest they would of made off the loan payments. And again in reality, if you want to presume that that money for student loans was paid for by tax payer, then you should understand that it had already been paid for, when the monies was given to the banks in the first place.

^^^ The sound of the crickets is deafening...

"Social justice scams..."
Just FYI, the US government does not recognize social rights. It is not in the constitution. And by the way a question for you: What is social justice? And what does the world look like with out social justice?

Good grief, a heaping helping of word salad. So, government handouts are simply "Free Money" now and everything's "already been paid for".

That's insane.

Two things you can be sure of at this point:
  1. "King" Joe Biden is not going to be allowed to summarily "forgive" school loan debt since it's not one of the duties afforded to him in the Constitution. It will be taken to court by someone and, unless the judge is as corrupt as Joe, it will be overturned
  2. The federal government is standing on dangerous ground with its "raid" on Donald Trump's home. This video spells it out:

Just saw these two videos, couldn't agree more:

Gotta love it, one of the videos was taken down since last night(I posted it less than 24 hours previous to when I updated this at 8:25 the next evening), probably by You Tube, because it drew too much attention to the problems caused by the government for said federal government to let it stay up

And, just when you think it can't get any worse, we get to look at what's happening in Europe. Between the war in Ukraine and the war on fossil fuels by the Biden administration(can we actually say that? Is there really a "Biden administration" or is it just a bunch of idiots doing their damndest to put us back into the medieval era), Europe is going back to burning wood for heat and most can't afford electricity or fuel for their vehicles as reported in this video:
