I used to use a temp unit like that when we were stationed in Okinawa and i was racing 1/10th scale touring cars.

Worked pretty good.

The radio Mopar is talking about (NOMADIO), comes with telemetry built into the radio itself.

I run NOMADIO radios and use this feature. It tells me instantly what the motor temp is at any time i wish.

PLUS, it can also be set up for on board rx battery volt, and engine RPM. :D

It is too bad that NOMADIO just discontinued their hobby line a couple months ago.

So what is the temp. sensor the telemetry used? Thermocouple? I'm designing something (ok it is all in my head now) to data log, no fancy telemetry for now and need ideas for sensors. I was thinking a thermocouple with a ring terminal under the glow plug would work for engine temp.. What else would be "good to know" items? RPM, and maybe temp. of the air or water? Pressure? I see a project coming on soon...
