Looking for a motor mount for a Turnigy 3994 or the NEU 1525 motor. I'm new at FE. But good at nitro. So with ignorance I ask also are both these 380 size?

Thanks

Bill

Thank you.

I was on their site. Not sure how I missed this. I don't have the motor yet so will wait til I get so I can measure.

Thanks,

Bill

Bill, NEU motors, least the ones Ive used so far have a different mounting screw spacing than say a turnigy so make sure your mount is gonna work for the NEU... just a heads up b4 going with a turnigy check out Leopard or TP alot better value for your monies....DJ

PS no those are not 380 size motors, 380's are very small motors...if you need some help on what motor your needing, esc etc...let us know what kind of hull your setting up and lipo class....

1/8 Scale Hydro...how about the mount for a NEU 1527 1.5Y

In our club the turnigy 3994 or the above Neu motor is my only choice. We are running on limited NAMBA rules. Batteries will be 2 65C 6000mah 4S.

Thanks for the advice.

Bill, this is the mount I got for the Turnigy 3394 http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/proddetail.php?prod=ose-82000 I also got the water jacket for the Neu motor. Looks like everything will work OK. You will need to use the smaller (3mm) mount holes on the motor, but with a little modification to the mount you could use the larger (4mm). This mount also has an end support ring which is a little loose on the can, so it may need some shimming or a slight mod.

Hope this helps, Tim

P.S. what size props are people using with this motor?

corrected linky

Bill, be sure to pick a mount that supports both ends on the Neu 1527, they are too big just to support on one end.

Tim, an Octura X450/3 detongued on the 1527 1.5Y works extremely well on the FE scale boats.

OOPSIE...I had the wrong link to the mount, It has been corrected. The mount is one that has the rear support.

Don, you are running 10S aren't you? The OP and I are planning to run 8S...so wouldn't a larger prop be in order?

The problem with all the above mounts is that they make it hard to quickly remove the motor. It's a little hard to see in the picture, but the side rails have been replaced by angles. The left side angle is under the removable battery box. Those angles can be bolted through the hull from above, making removal much easier.

Hey Tim,

That depends on if there is a parity rule, are you guys mixing nitro and FE? Yes the X450/3 is a great prop for 10S applications, with 8S you can go up a little for sure but watch the mah consumption and heat.

...same mount I was gonna suggest if your going NEU...same motor and mount im using in my GP400...nice setup...DJ

Great minds think alike. LOL I love the double strap mounts. I've used them in riggers and my P-Mono. Makes pulling the motor a breeze!
