james-

does your performance description refer to a stock 45 evo, or is it worked? i'm looking at the picture of the 45 evo II on tidewater's site here and it shows a third channel needle on the carb. anyone have feedback on how it performs?

Tim,

if you see one of these engines chew out a drum then you may have cause to complain. From what I understand the combination of a balanced drum and the casting material (different to other engines I have seen) seem to work fine. Oh and the drum is relieved so it is not full contact.

EMS Racing ummmm errrr something

Craig,

Unfortunately I haven't seen one of these engines run at all. The points you raised are good, but I'm a little hesitant to hand over my hard earned $$$$ for something when I know other engines have problems with running the drum in an alloy housing minus a bronze bush. I hope the motor you have can change my train of thought!

Is there a disk A45 engine anymore?

Tim.

Tim,

There is a new OPS 45 with the unbushed drum in our club, so far it has done a couple of race meetings and still going well. I'll let you know if he has a problem! ;)

Ian.

Amazing how fashions come and go.... drum induction, then disc induction, then drum induction... give em 3 years and discs will be hot again

EMS Racing everything is cyclic

So do PIP still do a disk 45 engine or do we have to wait 3 years for the fashion to change again ;D ;D ;D

Tim,

Yes they do a disc 45 but it is built for Multiboats. Totally different beast to the A45H..

Hmmm Gear Drive 45 Hydro????

EMS Racing wait till you see the next gear drive
