WCRA Race # 4 Cancelled

Guys,

As of tonight (Tuesday 7/08/08), we don't have enough boats to make ANY class. The race is scheduled for this Sunday. I will give it til Friday. If we don't get at least 30 more entries by then, I will have to cancel the race.

I know times are tight. Let me know if we should even bother continuing with the rest of the year's schedule.

Don , personally I will be in the Keys on a badly needed vacation ! The following race will be missed due to family coming in from CT . Tough time to boat for me , hope things pick up so the race can be run ! As always thanks for all the hard work at putting on races !

Hope you don't have to cancel any more races. Summer is a tough time with vacations and travel. We are in Minnesota now and headind back to Internats next week. Look forward to future WCRA races.

I hate to hear that Don, I'm DARN close to being ready to come back out and had planned to run this race- Kinda forgot about my daughters 4th B-Day party Sunday until I mentioned to the wife I wanted to race this weekend. OOOPPS Don't give up on the rest of the year yet, I know the time effort and hard work it takes, but its the only game in town for us poor guys with family's. Hope the entry's pan out, And count me in for the next one- maybe the 2 day also in a few weeks, Bill's 20 Mono is itching to burn some nitro

I am sorry to say that there are not enough entries to fill even one heat. This race is now officially cancelled.

Gene will be calling the SIX drivers who entered and making arrangements to refund their entry fees.

We'll get it going again. Seems to be just a tough time right now.

Hi Don, Sorry to hear that race 4 was cancelled....was looking forward to it....PLEASE dont cancel the WCRA series!!! if it wasnt for the 1 day races, i would hardly be racing at all, as i simply cannot afford to run at the district 2 day races other than the races at the Brandon or Tampa ( I hope again someday!) lake......Im sure that things will pick up in time... this darn economy is just kinda beatin everybody up!!! Thanks for all the GREAT work you Brandon guys do!! Bill

Bill makes a good point with the economy as it is going to a 2 day with lodging expenses can be hard for a lot of racers. The one day are nice in and out events. Another factor is the summer heat we have to deal with. Something to consider in future scheduling as with so many races people will start to pick and choose the races that fit better for them.
