Gino,

The Orininal "Lynx Cut" prop is a prop that I made for John Brown in South Carolina last year. John was having trouble with his set up and so I made him a prop at the race site just like the one we were running on our boat at the time. John gave me a T&B Octura 442 that he had on the shelf and I made the prop from that. John took the prop home, blocked it and started selling the prop he called the "Lynx Cut". The best part of the 442-LC is that it stays hooked up and runs fair speed, somewhere in the 51-52mph range

I actually put the prop I made for him on our boat and raced it in the final heat of 3.5cc tunnel, won the heat and took it off and handed it to him. The 442 Lynx Cut is not the fastest prop you can put on the Lynx but it stays hooked up around the track like the 4053 and makes a very good race prop when trimmed correctly.

If you run the 4053 on a good modified, it will need to be pitched up. The 1440 is faster but the 442-LC and the 5053 are much more forgiving and easy to trim for. I would start with one of these and then go to the 1440 if I were you.

No matter what people may tell you about props, or what prop is best, let your stop watch deturmine what prop is best for your boat.

Note:

The Lynx holds the IMPBA Sport 3.5cc O/B tunnel 2-lap record at 28.860 sec. with the ABC-4053.

(with SAW speeds of around 54-55 mph)

The Lynx holds the IMPBA Modified 3.5cc O/B tunnel 2-lap record at 25.228 sec. with the Oct-1440.

(with SAW speeds of around 58-60 mph)

Have fun!
