Well got up this morring and tought i would take the AC mono hull out for it frist run this year. Got to the lake and man was the wind blowing but i had to run it so i started it up throw it in and away we go boat is running find thought i could make it run a bit faster so i brought it in and leaned up the carb a bit and back to the water. will it all looks find and then the last strate run i made the gas servo got stuck wide open ???? I have never had this trouble before so i thought well i will just ride it out. Wrong wind was blowing real good at this time and the wakes were big and a mono dont like the choppy water to start with so i made a real fast turn and that was the end of my running for the day boat tuned over and the rear of the boat sunk. all that was out of the water was the front and it was sticking out of the water strate up. So i get the jon boat and went after it. now i need a new rec and throttle servo i dont now what happend to the servo but it dont work anymore the stering servo still works but i know the rec is shot and the throttle i think died before the water got it i know it was stuck wide open before the crash. But hey i had fun running it before it crashed i will just have to get a new rec and i just missed one on e-bay for 17.00 new in the pack man i need to watch the time more better. O well there will be others to come sorry for the long story i just had to tell someone about my day thanks :D

Sounds like you had fun, now next time make sure the radio box is sealed!!!!! ;)

Man I swear there's no such thing as a dry radio box except for everyone else's.....LOL....Funny thing is that's what other people say...LOL

Hey where can i get this stuff at. Any online stores. And yea i was having a ball before it went crazy. I have to say the AC hull takes the wakes better than i would have thought. it was all going ok until the hull took on water and sunk in the rear and that put the radio box under water. I have saved the servos thay work after drying out but the rec never came back. And i thought the radio box was sealed good but i guess not. And i found out what happend with the gas servo the rod from the servo and the carb was hanging on the engine mount when it is in full throttle. i will hve to fix this also.

Please put some more foam in the hull and tie it in. Depending on the air trapped in the nose is not a good idea. Seen 'em disappear and not come back up. Sad day.

I had the same problem with a receiver taking on water , i took it apart and blow dryed it with my wife's blow dryer ,Still using that same receiver today. B)

You can put dye electric grease in it and in your servo's save's them from water damage. ;)

I've seen some stuff at NAPA, Home Depot, and other stores, its the stuff you dip tool handles in to improve the grip, and provide rust (and water) protection... I brushed it all over my reciever, and have had no problems... i looked on the homedepot site and couldnt find it, but i know its there...

"Liquid Handle" or something like that...

Shnick :D

It's also called plasti-dip. If the receiver ever needs repairing - forget it.

I got some military grade circuit board laquer a few years ago and it worked great. This stuff can be soldered thru also which means repairs can be done if needed.

Can't get that stuff anymore :(

I tryed some wax one time and it did not work. it burned the rec up i guess it conduct ele. i had seen companys use it on boards before but never all over them. Just thought i woudl try it it was a old rec i had.

That Plasti handle is basically good for your homemade battery packs. Seems the new receivers form JR don't like Corrision X on them and it definitely voids the warranty. Bummer.

I like that "I'm gonna wax my receiver" trick....   I can see you know with a lite candle dripping beads of wax everywhere....

Usually the only thing we're waxin' is our surf boards bro!
