VooDoo Sport Hydro Shootout

Guys,

I am making this post with hopes of getting some more interest from the Nitro part of our hobby. We are having a really great race and have over 185 boats entered already with 9 days left and should be well over 200 by the cut off date of the 10th of November. We are offering all classes and really have not had much support from the Nitro racers. We are looking for ways to make this more attractive for you guys to come out and race, so if you have any suggestions please let me know so we can try to accommodate you guys. We truly would love to have you guys come out and race with us. The new facility has turned out really nice and there is plenty of parking for everyone and there are a bunch of nice hotels less then 10 minutes from the pond.

We are having a Crab/Shrimp boil on Friday night free of charge and will be having $5 lunch plates on Saturday with food catered from the BBQ Station who has some of the best BBQ on the planet. Saturday evening the guys from the New Iberia club have promised some great cajun cooking free of charge for everyone. We will also have Antron Brown and Angelle Sampey from the US Army Pro Stock Motorcycle team racing boats, signing autographs and just hanging out with everyone.

We also have a ton of raffle prizes:

Jeff Daft with Hurricane boats has donated a Hurricane Mono Hull as a raffle prize.

Carmine Constantini from Banner Chevrolet has donated an iPod for the raffle.

Rossi Sales Of America is donating 2 $25 dollar gift certificates for Speedmaster products.

Fred from the APRCRA has also donated a very nice high points trophy to the competitor who accumulates the most combined points with any three classes entered.

I hope that some of you will decide to come race it will be a great time for everyone involved.

Jeff,

There are two F hydros entered and no twins entered so far. If you enter F Hydro the class will make, but there will only be a trophy for first place unless we get five entered.

Carlo has Antron entered a boat? I know he runs some gas boats. With people like this entering the hobby it could get HUGE exposure and bust our hobby wide open. I was at the Indy Masters race and thought i saw Antron leaning on the fence watching our race,i emailed and he confirmed he was there and does run boats TOO COOL..............Mike

Yep he is enterd in 3-4 classes. I was out at the VooDoo pond on Sunday and guess who was there testing. Yep Antron. He has got some fast boats and is a great driver. Not to mention a very nice guy. After the day was just about over, seeing that I follow NHRA, I asked him about his upcoming year and was very cool to talk with. I can't wait to be on the driver's stand next to him racing. This whole weekend will be off the hook. There are 211 boats entered. Plenty food and fun gonna be going on.

Don you are also correct. I think she is entered in stock mono. Angelle is/was a local here. She owned a Suzuki dealership here a few years ago.

Antron Brown, Angelle Sampey and Tommy Delago the crew chief on Bob Gilbertsons Top Fuel funny car will all be here racing this weekend. I have quite a few buddies that race in NHRA that are starting to get into the boats pretty heavy. I just finished two brand new boats for Tommy D. and he will be racing them both this weekend. Antron is basically part of my family, after the race we are going to Disney world for a week for some much needed vacation time for both of us and our families. If you guys can make it out it is going to be a great race with great food and great people. This is a big party that we have decided to race some boats at.
