Well now that the shootout is over, I figured I could get some help from you twin experts! Im setting up my Twin 90 Roadrunner X for its maiden voyage next week. This is my first twin, so I finally got it all put together and am going to set it up. So here is the question, Im going to start with the struts perfectly flat(no angle) about 1/8" below the rear sponsons. Is this correct? I have the front sponsons at 3/8" 6" from trailing edge as says from roadrunner, and the rears were set with the Jig. So is this strut setup a good place to start? I have heard that possibly the right(inside) strut should be lower than the left. Is this true? Do any of you roadrunner guys move the struts up to sponsons level or above sponsons to turn larger props? Any help will be appreciative. Again, I dont want anyone to tell me there secret setup(unless you want too :D ) just let me know if this is a good place to start, or am I off here? Any tricks I should know??

Thanks again fellas, this is where this site can come in really handy!

Larry if you can contact Kris Schactschneider out of Nashville he has a real good running twin which was his first twin also. He is the CD for our race in Huntsville that is coming up in 4 weeks.

Larry,

You can email me direct at [email protected] and I can send you a setup sheet. If the hull is level and the rest of the information you have provided here is correct. You then loosen the struts and push the back of the boat down till the rear sponsons touch the table keeping the struts flat and lock them down right there. This is your starting point and then we make slight adjustments from here. I would recomend 1667's and the amount of pitch is determined by your motors (CMB 90 6.5 to 7.0 pitch-Picco 80 6.0 to 6.5-Mac 84 5.0 to 5.5-ANY 67 motors start with stock props and tweak them as you go). If you need any more info contact me.

Yep, your right Craig. Ron Zaker Jr. told me it was one of yours when he first got a glimps of it when I took it to his house for a repaint. This is the one that didnt break in half. He said you had some of the best turning twins he ever saw. A true lane one twin. Beautiful boat. Any suggestions?

Have you ran the boat yet Larry?

I was going to run this past weekend, but there was a large weather system in the chicago area, lots of rain and wind on sat and sun morning, so it was a no go <_< I might try and get out sometime next week.

Larry, really nothing to add that Ralph hasn't already said, no real speed or handling secrets, keep em straight, do the maintenance, good props, good motors, smart driving, that's the beauty of the roadrunner.

Craig, good luck
