If the motor is cogging, then a common cause is a poor connection on one of the motor wires. Poor soldering on one or more connectors can cause this - but sometimes it's tough to catch. Running a cogging motor is extremely hard on the ESC. Other causes could be the wrong PWM setting for the motor, or broken wires inside the motor.

Thanks Jay,

I'm pretty confident in my solder joints (as soldering has been part of my occupation for the last 20 odd years) but I trust your opinion & will check them again.

Not sure if the PWM setting can be altered on the T120 - I couldn't see any reference to changing it.

Anyone else used the T120 with the UL-1 motor to rule this out as a possible scenerio?

it cost more $$ is one reason

On some radios they have a sudden stop when the throttle is let off

Don't get me wrong, I have a few of them andthey work fine, but I also have a turnigy 120 that works fine too ;)
Sorry did not mean to but in, its also the legal set up for IMPBA.
Dick that is just in the IMPBA Districts that promote fast, reliable, fool proof, setups that will last a lifetime if treated properly. ;)

See ya next weekend!!

Doug
