Which tuned pipes are used for .12 -.15 buggy motors in outrigger and monohull applications?

I've used the MIP Stinger on a .15 with good results. There are tons of pipes and headers for buggies and cars...check Tower.

I've got 4 now that I'm working with and have a 5th to try yet. A Paris AL110, an MIP, a Fantom (too heavy) and an Mac. I have a CEN Racing plastic pipe that I might throw on next, cheap and light. The Paris is a favorite so far but it is a rare pipe. I've heard that the Team Losi Adam Drake Edition pipe could be a good one also.

the paris "ribbed" pipe is a good top end pipe. the associated pipe (from the rc10gt kit) is a great, wide powerband, pipe. this is my experience used in cars atleast. problem imho is they are all developed for a wider power band than what we would use in a boat giving up some top end. you would think one of the boat pipe builders would develope a .12 size marine specific pipe.....?

Hi Guy's

There should be a bunch of nitro pipes out there for .15 engines - speed flyers use them and at one point pylon racers. Pretty sure Mac make a .15. You'd probably only need to shorten them a bit for .12 use.

GT ;D

Tried the LOSI/ASSOCIATED RPM pipe on my Cat last weekend. The boat looked like it was pulling an anchor. A ton of back pressure compared to the MACS pipe that we are all familiar with.

Oh crap :'( that is what I have for my HH12. Well I will try it anyway. Hopefully I will have better luck with it.

I haven't had a chance to try the CEN pipe yet. I been kinda gone for a week but I did take the HH .12 with me. I never got it in the water. I will do some running with it this coming week though. Wouldn't it be funny if a cheap pipe worked out great on it?

Funny, That would the great!!! ;D More performance for less money, you can't go wrong with that combo. You will have to let us know soon.

Andre

go to www.fastelectrics.com and check the CF pipes on nitro hulls page

we use them on our 1.2's and .15's and I have yet to see one faster

worth every cent I promise.

Andre,

do you use the 3.5cc pipe on your .12

(2.1cc) engines?

I would like to try one of those CF pipes.

How does one get a CF pipe for a 2.5 from Austraila?

Hi Guy's

I'm sure if you ask nicely someone could help - there are a few of us aussies on the forum. AndrewG runs the shop that sells them and I'm sure he would ship to the US - just drop him an email.

GT ;D

MikeP,

I can send you mine to try it if you like - it's one of the early ones so it doesn't look as pretty as the later ones - but the shape and the dimensions are still the same.

Tim.

Ron i agree with wade that would be great. and isn't that part of the point we are on here, so that we don't all make the same mistakes and keep it more affordable for those like me who don't have as much to spare when the month is over.

-keepin it cheep because i gotta-
