keep the motor and get it moded and bolt it up to a HTB 290

i wouldnt wast your time with the bandit hull

cheers

Personally im not a huge fan on the TT obs... and i wouldn't touch the hull to throw it. haven't seen one go but ive looked at one and didnt like it. looked like a bad copy of a ts2... B)

oh that was real constructive,,,

just putting a pipe on it alone is a big improvement,,,, get yourself a octura x637 prop and you will be on your way to a great engine...too many people put these engines down,,when with the right tweaks they rip...jerry does phenominal work with the tt o/b...thats who i go to...

I have a 290 HTB with a Cmb ect. it is a great boat.I also have run some Bandit boats a 26'' Killer a 30'' and a 34'' 7.5 tunnel. The only one that did not work for me was the 30'' 3.5 not to say some people did very well with it. I still run the 26'' Killer with a K@B 3.5 SS and it runs 45 mph on my gun all day. Its not as fast as the HTB's but its still alot of fun. I won alot of races with it in the stock class when the 3.5 water cool was it. I think it is a good tunnel not the best but not to bad either. Next project a modded IH Amps combo!!!

Joe, the original poster is talking about the Thunder Tiger Bandit boat, not the Garcia Bandits you are refering to. Big difference.

In all honesty, I have seen quite a few of the TT bandit hulls run, and they are not bad. In fact, they do exactly what they are intended to do, get peple into the hobby easily and affordably. Is it the best equipment on the market? Not even close. Can you race them and have a great time? Absolutely. Does it look similar to a TS2, well..... yes. Does that matter? Not to me, nor will it matter to the guys buying them in the hobby store with or without intentions of racing competitively. We all gotta start somewhere!

Just my $.02 ~James

finally a real answer, not everybody can spend $275+shipping for a htb 290 (hull only). for about the same price you can get the bandit w/motor. we're working with are local hobby shop to get beginners setup cheaper then that!!

I have seen and ran against the bandit boat. they can be very competitive and fast. OH and by the way defiantly fun.

Hi After 15h of testing a prototyp Bandit from Jörgen A last year

I have to say its ok to drive.

Some tuning and testing and then good preformans as a RTR boat.

As a race boat hmmm.. okey with a OS in the rear its fast in the stock class.

Hey C'mon...! Its just an opinion jerry :) I know what you and Tim can do to a TT and i know they CAN go...

All im saying is im not a huge fan... good for the price though. As for the bandit no James it dont matter to me if it looks like a ts2... ive got two of them. I just dont like RTR boats mot because they do pull people towards the sport but because they turn people away. Not saying this boat will turn you away but some of the crap you find on ebay will. And that SUCKS! coz this is a really fun sport.

I think if you spend a lil extra cash not even on a htb... buy a second hand boat off here and you will a lot better off in the long run is all ;)

Is that not a IH amps hull you posted In the pic?

Bryan (nothing but love for ya bro...), I wasnt pointing out your statement about it looking like the TS2, thats the first thing I said when I saw the Bandit last year in Sweden also. You know where my loyalty lies with the HTB... :) I would say the Bandit is a firm and level competitor for the TS2, but its no HTB or Lynx.

This is what it's all about - bringing in new people. Sure, it's not a HTB290 or a l y n x, but how many hobby shops around the world would have one of those hulls either in stock or available at short notice from an existing supplier for the impulse buyer.

I can't speak for other area's, but in Australia the TS2 has been responsible for bringing in new people because they saw it at their local hobby shop.

The HTB290's / L y n x are the next step up for these newer boaters once they are involved in racing. I can think of three guys in my own club who started racing with TS2's and then moved on to HTB290's, either new or used. The TT boat is not too dissimilar, and it's got to be better than that ABS p.o.s they used to sell.

Thanks to all that replied to this ,i didnt mean to open a can of worms, but it was good to here different opinions .Im not new to boating but i am new to tunnels, anyway ive bought one so i shall see for my self,im looking to be the fastest, just consistant, thanks again.
