Hello guy's,

I just got my first model boat and I went with the TS2 hull and OS .21 motor. Just had a few questions. Was wondering if someone had any pics of the boat done, with the cowl off showing pics of the new style tank and how it is mounted. The instructions show a different tank (not sure if it is newer or older than my tank) and I can't seem to find the pics I need. Just wanted to know if I have a boat from the first production run.

Almost done putting it together, and so far I am happy with the boat. Finish is great, and boat feels good.

Thanks

Dave

Hi Dave,

Congrats on your new tunnel hull and engine, you are headed into a lot of fun!

Your TS2 is not from the 1st production run. The new tank mounts just like the old. Put velcro on the "flat" side of the tank and mount it in the same location mentioned in the manual.

Thanks,

Russ

Thanks for the quick response.

The picture shows mounting the tank furthest back on the boat, and if I mount it with the flat end down the fuel line coming directly out of the tank will hit the hull? Am I supposed to turn the tank around so the fuel comes out of the front (towards the front of the boat), I have seen this in a few pictures, but doesn't seem right to me?

Thanks

Dave

On my TS2, i bent the fuel pick up tube down and added a small piece of fuel tube at the bottom of it. I'll try to be more clear: i made a 90 degree bend in the pipe.(this is hard to do without breaking the small pipe.) This way when the boat is on plane the fuel and the pick up tube will be at the back of the boat.(less fuel line) The fuel tubing i spoke of earlier was cut to a 45 degree angle just at the bottom so it would continue to pick up the fuel and not become closed off if i had put it to far down in the tank. This works well for me. I run almost all of the fuel out every time. There may be better ways of doing it but i like this best. Also it make take a couple of tries to get the tube bent so have extra on hand and bend slowly. You may have to make several bends along the tube to make the bend smooth. If there are better ways out there im sure other will pipe in. Try to get several ways before making your decision on how best to do it.

If the tank lays on the flat side it looks as though the steering rods will really have to bend to reach the proper locations in the radio box. The instructions say it is normal for the rods to touch the tank but they will really have to bow around the tank. Is this correct?
