Trim Tabs

Good Evening follow boaters

Just wondering on you preferences on placement of the trim tabs.
Do you place them flat with the hull bottom or slightly above the hull bottom?
That's to start then can be trimmed up or down.

I place mine recessed from the edge. .015-020" usually works.
