Went to the lake yesterday to do some more testing...

It was going pretty well till I hit a metal bouy stay.. the lake is so low they are above water... Not too bad though.. Just broke off one sponson... sounded like a gun shot though... I though the boat was going to sink...

time to do more building!!

I would rather have a tough day at the lake(i.e. hitting a Turtle/Muskrat/etc.) as opposed to not being able to go to the lake at all. :)

Yesterday I only tested the H7. I don't have the exact specs on this prop but I know it had the diameter reduced. (I'll get that tomorrow)

With this combination of boat type and NR 5port and 50% fuel and the H7, the motor seems to be close to a balance between too much prop and peaking on RPM too soon. I think the full blade 1450 may be too much blade area for this combo but I haven't tried it yet.

I am becoming confident that the pitched up 1445, the H6 or 7, will be the right combination for this setup.

Thanks guys!

Tony,

How did the bigger propellers run?

Tony,

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. I've heard other boaters here in the Indy area talking about that very same thing. Some guys refuse to run there because of that. I was out there about 6 weeks ago just to look over the place. I hadn't been there since I used to race there back in the 80's. I quit racing to raise kids. Now I'm getting back into it and looking for places to run. What are the chances of rescuing that grand old race site? I would be willing to help in any way I can. Just a thought I've had for a while now. I didn't intend to hijack your thread with this. Just looked like a good opportunity to bring up the subject.

Well I think you can run there whenever you want. I don't think there is really a club to speak of anymore. No races are held there. I've have a few people mention this. I think it's a great idea!
