Hey James looks good.

I moved house this week too - new shop / garage is a lot better than at the old place (as Nitrocrazed could confirm - it was tiny)

I'll take some pic's tonight when I get home, but I have a separate workshop for my R/C stuff from my other hobby - currently building a nice little turbo charged street sleeper.

Tim.

Hey Tim, what kind of street sleeper you working on? My son and I just finished up one of those.

-MikeP

Tim sounds cool, lets see it! We used to make some pretty fast street sleeper motorcycles......turbo is the way to go for a sleeper. ;D

Not quite gener!

(although I'd love an XC Falcon Coupe - getting hard to find)

This project is small, light, and powered by a 2 litre cosworth engine with a turbocharger. Those of you that have followed rallying thru the 70's and 80's will know the good old Ford Escort Mk2 - probably the most successful 2wd rally car of that era. My one looks like a little old ladies car and it's going to stay that way for the sleeper value, but it should do a standing 1/4 mile in the high 12 sec range. Good fun!

Anyway, here's a pic of the new garage/shop from the outside.

Here's a pic of my last "toy"

1953 FJ holden utility - ground up restoration.

These things are an Aussie Icon.

Dude I Want that truck!!!! ;) too cool, sleepers hmmm I got my honda, just need to find a good tranny for my new motor ;) (they won't know what hit em), current tranny's fragged neways... send some pics of what you got going tim I love those older escorts

-Btw take fotoshop, remove the top 1 would prolly look really cool, 2, look really simular to an chevy ssr ;)

Cy,

The "truck" or ute as we call 'em is worth more $$$ as an original restoration than a customised one - I would have loved to put a small block chev and a auto trans in it but couldn't bring myself to cutting it up..... The old original grey 6cyl. motor got some major o/sized slugs instead!

The escort is a different story - I have no problems with doing some "adjusting" on it! he he he.

The only pic's I have of it so far are as I bought it - I've since stripped a fair bit of things out of it - engine and trans - electric's - doors etc.

Send me your email address and your limit size and I'll send you the ones I have so far....

Also have a look at http://spannerfodder.com/the_works_escorts-car-gr4.php for pic's of the most famous MK2 escort rally car.

anyone seen Mad Max? ;D

that interceptor in the pic is bad to the bone!
Seen it, seen the car in person (it looked rough to say the least) I've even worked in the town where it was filmed! I knew there had to be some advantage to travelling there - even if it is only for bragging - the place is a dustbowl.

Tim,

I read they made two cars for the films, one was used in the driving and stunts, and was a bit rough, while another was used for interior shots and close-ups. Maybe you saw the rough car?

Ian.

Ian,

you could be right! Who knows how many replica's are out there nowdays too. Just like XC cobra's and phase III GT H/O's.. sorry - they are fords too! Just for you Ian I'll list some classic Holdens I like too. LJ GTR - XU1 Torana, HK GTS monaro, A9X and L34 Torana's. I like Chrysler e49 Charger's too.

Sorry for hijacking the thread Topfuel! I can talk cars for hours!

Gee Tim. You were just asking about how to get the $$$ to get to the states to race. You could sell off one of the toys! Or, why not sell of that really great kids activity centre in the pic of your 'shed'. You proberbly don't use it much now in winter.

I would also like to ask Topfuel about that very small fridge under the work bench. That must just be for the glue right! No self respecting model boater would admit that that was his 'beer fridge'.

Can't wait till we get over there and we can 'christen' his shop with a true ozzy 'Piss-up' (Boozathon) and Barby (BBQ). Do you guys get shrimp or just prawns? My favouite for a Barby - Blackened Catfish - Yummee.

Wild Bill.

Wild Bill, The fridge is for the fuel........ and yes a beer or two, maybe a soda. (Gotta start somewhere : :) )

"Piss-up" (you aussies have a way with words ;D ) we call it a Keg Bash. I ll go head to head with any beer drinker all night, 5 years of college will teach you alot about the sport of beer drinking.

Just picked out a Brand new Dukane grill two weeks ago, trying to get it "seasoned in"

I live on the coast......SHRIMP??? .....heh heh, weve got shrimp bigger than most dogs. ever tried blackened grouper? You'll love it.

Come on over, the shop is open.

~ James

Sorry TF,

but I need another useless posting to get the numbers up!!!!

For the OZ folks.. Need to understand on thing about the Intercepter.. How'd they get the blower to not turn over while the motor was running is all I want to know!!

Mark..

OB Nut Racing: Must be a thing-a-ma-bob hooked to the what-ya-call-it!!

OB nut, I remember that too from the movie. Must be a centrifugal clutch mounted in the bottom crank pulley that has some huge springs and only kicks in when you get above 5,000 RPM.......... or not.

Another thing that bugs me about movies (being a motorcycle guy) is when someone is supposed to be riding a two storke bike and they have the sound of a fourstroker or vice versa.......geez hollywood, do your homework
