Wow

My bosses dad use to collect model engines and i have never seen this one.

Gives me hard nips just looking at the thing. This would be a great catch.

Smolking...

Has anyone seen one of these run before ? Maybe we should all chip in and buy it

Yeah Grim, that's a bad b*tch ain't it? If I had $1,500 sittin around that I could blow on somethin' to collect dust I'd have to add that to the "it's cool but don't touch" shelf..... :p

Ya gotta love the "certificate of authenticity" hand signed from Picco & Muzio! B)

And after all this I've just realized ( as in I clicked on "supersize the pictures") that those 2 carbs are sitting on an oval shaped "housing" that's separate from & bolted to the main case. Then one sees the big belt going to it. Can you say SUPERCHARGED???

I suppose that the problem with more than 2 cylinders sharing the same crankcase on a 2stroke.

As you know, on a 2 cylinder 2 stroke with a shared crankcase, you loose the “compressor” effect of a single piston coming back down into the case to pressurize the mixture that will flow into the ports when the ports open.

I’m guessing that supercharging is the only way to make this motor work.

still a fine piece of work,

Ian, I first thought it was a belt driven induction, but saw that the gearing on the belt was more than 1:1 and I couldn’t figure out how that would work.

With that said….I’ll bet that crankshaft is quite a piece of work…..2 inductions and 2 cranks on the shame shaft…….I’m thinking it’s probably a 2-3 piece crankshaft

The Belt drives the drum valve. If you like this, check out MHZ of Germany. They have the same type of engine design with different amounts of Cylinders and the quality is awsome.

They have a V6! Yes VEE-6 Wow... and each cylinder is 15 cc. 6 x 15 = 90cc. I held a PAIR of them in my hands. I was drooling about the thought of those things in a Twin.

At the time the V-6 was $2500.

Hey Andy,

Help me wrap my mind around how the drum would open less than one time per revolution and make this motor work for a 2 stroke.

Take a look at the belt gearing

I thought drum drive at first until I noticed this.........I'm still thinking compressor until my thick head comprehends how it could be something different.

The 6 cylinder appears to have 2:1 ratio on the drum with 3 carbys for 6 cylinders. Math works out for the induction on the MHZ but I’m still befuddled on how this would work out for 2 carbs and 2 cylinders.

I’m still guessing it a supercharger.

Anyone have

$1500

and a set of allen wrenches to settle this?

The OPS is trick but the MHZ's are awesome! Got a 2004 Christmas wish list started LOL and Don IF I were to get one you can bet I would put it in a boat and run that puppy!
