Well I bin working on my project now for about 2 years. Have taken a break from RC boats to build a full size boat.

I am at my favorite part the eng build up.

Spent the last two years researching and accumulating parts as the cash was available.

Figured I would share a few picks of what I have done to this point.

The eng is a Mercury 2.5 V6.

In typical form I have done my own port work and sleeve timing.

Awesome David!

Just one question. How do you hook up the six tuned pipes?

Andy

Ya I wish........

Took some time to understand the tuned ex on this eng.

It is ass backwards to a single cyl eng. The ex chest as thy call it shares 3 cyl on each side. The firing order makes 2 cly in each side a paired set as thy call it. the ex pulse from one opening plugs the ex on its mate.

Then the scavenging is done on each side of the chest with a tune pipe.

Ex timing and transfer timing mean a lot in how the eng plugs the cylinder. Also the volume of the chest and the distance between the paired cylinders to set the RPM that the pugging happens best.

My head was spinning trying to figure it all out and make the changes to the eng.

Here is the custom tune pipe on this eng build. Also the cutting in the chest and timing changes on the sleeves I hope will all pan out.

I will finally have a 100+MPH boat..............Difference is I will be in it.........LOL

Here is the boat. It is a Hydrostream Vector that I have totally rebuilt. Ground to the shell and redone with Epoxy and H60 core. Also high density Coosa foam glass reinforced board to replace the wood structure.

The boat weighs 460 LBS un rigged.

About half way done with the rigging on the boat.

The comes my favorite part PAINT...................UUUUUGGGG

It will probably take you as long to learn how to drive that beast as it took to understand the exhaust! . It should be fun. Looking forward to seeing it on the Suwannee.

Just hope I don't kill my self learning how to drive it.......................

One good thing have a few gallons of epoxy left for the toy boats when I get back to them..........

David,

Just keep the set you have alive.

Looks nice, you have done a really nice rebuild on this piece.

The Big J cannot wait for his test ride.

Be Careful Testing,

David,

Are those Standard glow plugs? or Turbo plugs?

Did Geiger-Tec use your head button design?

No Brass head button inserts? Bummer !!!

I guess you can upgrade them later? It looks

like the plug depth is pretty deep? Those head buttons

look a lot like our newest Nova Rossi-12 head button

design, but we did not anodize our newest heads yet?

All kidding aside, it looks like some Really Nice Heads

from Geiger-Tec?

Thanks For Sharing,

Mark Sholund

Yes thy are the bomb...................Thy come with two sets of chambers any way I want to start off.

Thy are a O ring design so no head gaskets. Metal to metal seal just like the small nitro engs.

Thy are doing a production run next week and mine are in this run.

Time to put some of the toy boat testing to good use.................................

Yes thy are made in a small shop up north in Ontario at Geiger Tec LTD.

Well after 2 years of doing my home work and saving my penny's here it is.

All I need is the heads to get finished up.

Don't ask how much it was I have no idea................I am scared to add it up......LOL

Should come in at about 300HP at the prop shaft with the port timing changes and carb setup.

The whole rig should be about 1200lbs with full tank and me in the boat.

Now time to do my favorite thing paint the boat..............UUUUUUUUG

David,

Looks like you will be sitting on a rocket when its all done, turning out pretty sweet

I hope so.......If it don't melt down first.......LOL

Have a safety system I set up for the fuel system. I have two EGT gauges one for each bank of 3 cyl. I can preset a alarm to turn on a enrichment circuit on the carbs to put the fire out when the ex temps get to 1225deg.
