Hey gang,
The pond is getting there and ready enough to be used. We've been out a few times in between cleanup. Temporary buoys (milk jugs) are out and real ones will replace them soon.I'm sure sometime this weekend. Randy and I drove out to Kevin Sherens house last night ( and got home way.... past my bedtime)and picked up a van full of Buoys.
Plus more goodies
Your one stop shopping RC store. Thanks Kevin
. I still need to make the PVC sleeves for the water, but that's not a problem.
The John boat didn't make it up there yet, but will this weekend with the buoys.
Ron, thanks for the kind words, I really want this situation to work. And I should be there Sunday too depending on the weather.
Inside the Battle front R/C shop, there is a frequency board with clips to take while you're running. That way the cars won't mess with our boats and visa versa, but most of the car guys are using Spectrums anyway. There's bathroom facilities inside too.
The fee to run for an entire day will end up to be $10 for non club members and $8.00 for members of the Southwest Michigan Model Boat Club. Don't forget The R/C shop pays rent and is there for a business. Right now there's no charge to run, but it's up to John when he wants to begin. And don't forget, this is an IMPBA insured pond. No valid card, NO RUN. John's been a great guy and puts on a heck of a good R/C race. Being that I've spent a few hrs there lately, I've had a chance to watch some of the outdoor buggy racing. Good stuff!
Hey Mark,
If you want to go on Tuesday, I can sneak out of work and meet you there, I have 62 vacation days built up and a good day of boating is a good vacation day in my book.
Scott,
we'll see what the weather brings for the weekend besides heat, and I'll let you know when we're running again.
