be careful with that blade.. dad had one of them once.. key word once. had steel toes on and it bumped the ground went over the boots.. WOW if he hadn't had them say goodbuy to your toes for sure.

keep me posted on a race maybe next year.. might have to make a trip over that way.

chris

Thanks Chris,

Knock on wood and anything else I can think of....

But I'm pretty careful, I've worked and owned a fab/machine shop for over 30 years and never had a stitch.I surely can't say that about my employees. But I had better shut up, It's never too late.

very cool. I was meaning to stop by earlier this week, but work has been a little crazy lately. and well with the whole family converging on this town for the next week looks like (at least the first part) this night is my only free time :(

looks like some fast water there.
chris
It sure does.

I just can't wait to splash a boat there, but it'll be another week or two. I'm waiting for all of the insurance paperwork to be completed. As bad as I want to drop in my Crapshooter, I have no intension of taking the chance of loosing it before we even begin. I promised the land owner an Insurance policy to run and my word is in stone. I want to run there so...... bad!

But, that also gives us time to complete the cleanup.

Just made the phone call and left a message regarding the information that we need for the insurance policy. My fault for dragging my feet on that one a bit. Things get a bit hectic with the end of the school year and the start of the outdoor off road season.

Walt is making nice progress on the clearing. I haven't been able to be much help, but it is looking good.

Looking forward to having boats on the lake soon!!!!!!!

John

Walt,

I will be picking up the information on my way to the store this afternoon. I will have it there for you whenever you make it up next.

John,

Things happen, no big deal, but I will be up later to pick it up and forward it on. The sooner I get it in, the sooner we can run.

Also, thanks for your support and all of the help you've given.

See ya later

Walt are you going to be there tomorrow or anyone else? I was thinking of making the cruise up there.

Hi Ron,

I've been up there every day and got back a bit ago. Sure, I'll go up again tomorrow. What time are you thinking about?

LMK and I'll meet you there.

And the pond is now officially an IMPBA insured pond. Thank you John Equi. I have all of the paperwork done and in hand now :D

We're good to go, with an IMPBA card that is. B)

Some more cleanup and we can fire em up!!!

I'm thinking that it'll probably be after 11:00 AM as I might have to do some running for the wife before I head up.

Ron,

If you would, please call me when you're ready to leave the Zoo @616-836 0003

Thanks.

Will do.

I don't know what to bring but if there's something extra that I might need I can hit Harbor Freight up the road.

The traffic ought to be just wonderful up that way. I'll be looking at the MDOT cameras before I leave but since I'm not getting into the "S" curve area it shouldn't be too bad.

Ron,

If you have a hard garden rake, a trash bag and a pair of gloves, that should do it.

I pretty much have everything else.

You'll be impressed, it's lookin good.

Walt, John and myself showed up yesterday to work on the site clean-up. To say that Walt has worked his butt off this past week is an understatement, the site looks tons better than it has in years!

Tomorrow, weather permitting we're hoping to get the buoys set up then christen the lake with some boats running. We've got an 80% chance of rain with possible severe weather.

You guys are going to love this lake for racing. Before we packed it up for the day, the winds started coming up, guesstimating 20+ MPH and the water was barely rippling. Where the launch area will be there is a drop-off close to shore so no problem throwing one in from shore.

We have some floating dock sections coming also which we'll need as the water levels fluctuate. The lake is connecte to the Grand River so it can go up or down a lot.

Walt shot the lake with a Golf range-finder and it looks like we'll have around 600' of straight-away room.

Hi Waltr just wondering how things are going at the GR pond have you guys started running yet ?? Would like to stop down and say hi in person when your running . Scott

Hey Scotty! The place is getting whipped into shape, Walt has put a ton of work into the site. I heard rumor that the buoys are in.

If weather permitting and if anyone else is going to be there I might cruise up again on Sunday.

Bring the wife along, I enjoy talking to her.
