Free Food and Drinks.

Yup there will be free food and drinks for all the racers at the Tampa Race. As some may know that is a private lake so there is a lot we can do there.

As it turns out the Landowners are so happy to have us back they really laid out the carpet for our return

They are going to build a nice shop/club house on the site with storage and an AC tower for the Judges. We also got a bunch of goodies like a good PA with a mixing board, wireless headsets for race officials and an excellent Radio Impound. Paved covered Hot pits with tables and etc.

The huge thing is we will have lighting for our course and pit areas.

This is something we have been working on for about six months but did not want to say anything until we got a contract with them. Luckily they need a tax write off and we needed a good race site. This should be done in time for our New national event we are working on in the late fall.

I will "fess" up.

We are going to get some cool stuff. NOT as much as I said but the landowner has been VERY gratious.

I did promise a hospitality tent and am in the process of making up a very nice "care basket". I have a childs size plastic pool that I am going to need help with.

Basicly the landowner likes beer, and cigars. If everyone could bring a six pack of beer and put it in the pool that would be great. NO BUD PRODUCTS please.

The landowner's favorite beer is LaBatt and Corona. If everyone could bring some of that to put in the pool it would be great. Also a few "Churchhills" would be great too. Most of the ABC liquor stores carry both.

No worries on the ice, our club will handle that.

Just bring the beer down to the area were you will Find Rod, Joe, The Pond Pirates or Myself and we will make sure it gets in the right hands.

don't forget we have to fill a 6' foot diameter "kiddie" pool, so the more beer the better.

Remember to not give the beer to anyone but those folks mentioned above, they are designated to recieve the gifts. Our Club Safety Officer: Hank is in charge of the Cigars, Please bring those to him

Im sure someone will correct me if Im wrong - but,

As long as you can see where your going(and a club member) and have a way to recover your boats, your fine anytime.

There is not a recovery boat on site, (That Im aware of ) so make your own plans during the week.

That said, a week before a 2 day- Im sure plenty of guys will be there this weekend , Im jealous btw

Ran today at the site and thanks to all who mowed the grass and cat tails, water is so clear has to be spring feed lake. Larry played with props on the old RR with new VACS and found mid 90s I played with the gas rigger running fine for Atlanta. Thanks again Tampa model boaters.

There is a Hampton Inn on Waters dirctly across from the Benjamin road entrance to the lake (across from Jazzys).

There is a Country Inn on Benjamin road just south of the lake.

There is a Holiday Inn Express on Anderson road just East of the lake.

All 3 are within 4/5 minutes from the lake.

The best bet on cost is Hotels.com Priceline, etc. It seems the old "give us a discount" deal with Hotels is a smoke blower routine. I have found the various travel sites give a better deal than local management.
