I was honored to be the MC at Jim's Memorial Service. I talked to him the day before he passed. He was concerned he had purchased a brand of tonic water I liked for gin and tonic. As has been mentioned previously, Jim was a stickler for details. We had made arrangements to have dinner and spend the evening with Jim and Diane in Fremont. We on our way back to Washington after visiting our daughter and son-in-law in Irvine. We were having lunch at Bubba Gumps in Monterey when I read the email sent by Al Waters regarding Jim's passing. I called Diane and said we would understand if she would rather cancel the dinner. She very much wanted us to come for dinner. She said Jim had purchased all the meats and other dinner items. Diane prepared a wonderful dinner. We told stories and cried. Two weeks later we returned to Fremont for the Memorial Service. Sadly, Diane has also passed. Diane contributed greatly to administrative tasks for NAMBA District 9.
