I'm on this site way more then I should be. I have seen and read, many people that I don't know or have meet maybe a couple times pass on in life. Some of these people where great contributors to the hobby and brought something special and unique with them and when they passed along so did there contribution. There contribution is never forgotten. But there product or service is long and gone.

For the people in this hobby that currently build, design, manufacturer or provide a service for. Do you guys or gals have a successor? To keep the things that are probably the most valuable in the hobby alive?

Samuel, I think a better question is "Do you have a successor that has the motivation to continue what you started for more than the short term?"

Many people don't understand how difficult it can be to take on a task and keep at it over the long term. Hell, I had a position in an organization that was very labor intensive. When the organization decided to have someone else do the job instead, the new person lasted less than a year while I had done it for over 5 with no problem

this is a very good answer.we have the same problem where i live trying to get people to do machine work on our drag racing engines.people either passed away or retired and no one to pass along the company too.you also have the problem of most of this NEW generation all they want to do is play with cell phones and computers, they are not very hands on!! very sad situation!!
