Russell , Hetic servos have reverse polarity compared to a Futaba servo
Since when did that hapen????????

Used Hitec servos together with Futaba along time w/o any problem.

Russ...I have seen this. It IS specific to the latest 81s. The amplifiers go bad. Hitec has replaced two for me and will be getting another two from me next week. How old is your 81?

I just got a new Hitec HS-81mg and the second I turn on the power It glitches like crazy. as soon as I give it a blip of the throttle it goes away. That is with no push rods connected. Should I be sending this one back?

Yep, it was the older 81MG that was bad (maybe a year old). Are you sendingh it back to Hitec directly? Who do you deal with? I picked up a new servo today (another 81), they were out of the 85's and the problem is solved. Weirdest thing though, it works fine alone, but once a third servo is connected is when it happens.

Anyway, it is now fixed. Thanks again everyone.

think maybe hes talking about the rotation. Futuba servo's have a counter clockwise rotation, while Hitec use a clockwise rotation.... not that i see how that would cause the problems hes having.

Ive run Hitec and Futuba servo's together as well with no problems.

Russ...just go onto Hitec's site and follow the instructions. You need proof of purchase though. I buy all my servos from Tower for this express purpose. Seems to be a QC issue with the universal units (black, read and yellow wires). I have 81's (black, red and white) that are 10 years old and still going strong! I personally like the servos and their support is top flight!

rick, thanks for the color code info. been having a similar issue. everything was great with2 servos, hook up the third, and my 81 (throttle) would go crazy. tried servos, battery packs, crystals, etc. was ready to condemn the 81, until i tried a different rx. mine was a bad rx. was still worried about the hitec, until your post, mine's the older red, white & black :D .

Russell,

All you had to do is contact your local Double E and I would have told you the problem right off the bat.

That boat is just a little scared of my litte blue and yellow 45 known to zip around your side of town. :) LOL

Just tell your boat that boat is in dry dock for the time beeing and the servo should settle down. :) LOL

Just couldn't resist.
