Hey guys, just figured Id post on here about my little side gig. I used to own Oval Express Racing many years ago which specialized in all things outboard and tunnel hull related. I have started new venture a few months ago essentially doing the same thing but with more focus on custom machined products for tunnels and some universal products as well. I own a small machine/fabrication shop, Stump Fabrication, and like to do hobby related parts as well as non hobby related stuff.

Many of you have seen the products I make first hand and at the races, I generally setup a small display to peddle my wares when we are at the races. Many of the parts/products I make are ever evolving as more testing gets done and more feedback we get from customers.

Anywho, if youre interested in taking a look at what we have, here is the website.

https://stumpfabrication.com/

Be sure to follow us on Facebook as well, just do a search for Stump Fabrication and look for our logo.

We have several products that are in the protoype stage and will be out soon, and we are always open to ideas about new products or refining existing products.

Thanks, James Gabe Clegg

Very nice,do you have any plans on making a brushless conversion set for the k&b lower unit s?

Thanks guys!!

David Richmond, I personally use the brushless conversion from OSE for all of my FE tunnels (7.5 and 3.5 size lower units). Have you tried them? I have not decided to make/sell them since they seem to have them covered. Maybe I need to look into it? Im always looking for something new to try....

James Clegg, are you in the boat parts business or are you a job shop taking any kind of work?

I used to own a job shop but I got tired of waiting 60 to 120 days to get paid.

Everyone wanted their parts tomorrow but wanted 60 days to pay the bill.

I haven't tried them, but thanks for the info. I like a couple of items on your site and wondered if you were going to offer them before I made an order.

Steve, Im a Job Shop. I get paid when parts are picked up.

David, I hadnt had any plans to make them, unless I can improve on a design, not much reason to honestly. Unless they have stopped making them

James, I hope you werent offended by me asking if you were a lob shop.

I still have a small CNC mill in my garage and about all I make any more is parts for gas powered boats.

I have health issues so I dont do a lot of work any more.

Guys, just wanted to show you a few things that we've been working on at StumpFAB. Below you will find radio box trays in various layouts for the popular LeeCraft XT-460 7.5/11cc tunnel. These trays are designed to work with the OEM fiberglass radio box. They can also be used with many other tunnel radio boxes, with some slight modifications. The width of these trays is 2.60". I have come up with what seems to be the most common Servo layout. These cutouts are for MOST standad sized servos. Some servos will not fit without modifications. I can make trays in any style, size or configuration for just about any box if these will not work for your application, for a slightly higher fee.

These trays are made out of black delrin (Acetal), a very strong, light and chemical resistant material. The mouting holes for the servos are simple 0.060" through holes and can be drilled and tapped for whatever fastener you decide to use. (I prefer 4-40). I typically mount these trays from the side with 4 screws through the side of the radio box, but they could also be mounted from the top down onto rails that are epoxied insde the box.

The cost per tray is $20.00, plus shipping. I will be adding them to the website shortly.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Version 1 (V1) is designed for (1) 1/4 scale servo, and (2) mini servos, such as the Hitec HS755 and Hitec HS85MG

Version 2 (V2) is designed for (1) 1/4 scale servo, and (2) standard size servos.

Version 3 (V3) is designed for up to (4) standard servos

Version 4 (V4) is designed for (2) standard servos and (2) mini servos.

We also have developed a switch mount design that is a little more robust than the Dubro version which is similar. This is designed to mount inside of your radio box, and has a nice fit to keep water out along the switch shaft. It accepts most slide switches, like the Futaba style switch that we also sell at StumpFAB. These are 3D printed in PLA. $8.00 plus shipping.

A few more items worth mentioning from the www.stumpfabrication.com website.

Benchtop tool organizer. This has been a lifesaver for me and keeping my tools organized while at the races or at home on the workbench. 3d Printed with the StumpFAB logo embossed on the sides. Comes with a small parts tray in the front to hold misc nuts and bolts. These are $40.00, plus shipping.

Up next are a few steering arms designed for the Novarossi .46 and .67 outboard engines. These mount to the upper or lower lugs on the engine itself and provide a mouting place for your favorite steering connections. These are on the site at $20.00 each, plus shipping.
