Question to the masses?

On the OS MAX 21 XM outboard the teflon stuffing tube, has anyone ever replace it
with a brass tube like the one you can get for the K&B 7.5 outboard, and is it worth
changing?

Yes, I,ve done that for years, and YES! (IMO) to your second question.

Another question, after heating the tube red hot to bend, do you reheat and quench the tube in water to hardern again?

I don't do that. I've never worn one all the way thru.

I don't see any reason not to give one a try if you want.

I have never personally used anything but the factory liner. I have never had one ware out or cause what I think to be a performance issue.

I always ran the stock liner in OS outboards. Shafts and liners last forever. If you do brass, quenching does not harden it. It softens brass.

a brass liner in a 7.5 is a must have IMO

is an OS or lawless 3.5, I use teflon
