In case this happens to you.

Last night I was taking apart one of my .15 engines and the heads of head bolts all stripped. I tried for a long time to get them out with different allen wrenches with no luck. This is how I got them out.

I took a drill bit the same size as the screw major diameter and drilled into the screw head until it popped off. I did this to each bolt. Now I could get the cylinder head off. Now there was about 1/8 in of screw sticking out of the case. I took my dremel with a cutting wheel and cut a slot into the top of the remaining bolts. Then a straight screwdriver easily turned the broken bolts out of the case.

Carefull to keep the shavings out of the engine.

Hope this works for you if you ever have a problem

I had the same problem a while back with a few of them breaking. I had to use a small drill bit and a small EZ-out to get them out due to the fact that they were broken off below the head surface. Since then, (suggested by Don F.) I have been flushing the cooling line/head with WD-40 after each day of running and have yet to have a problem when I take the engine apart. :)

I take two nuts and tighten them against each other and back the bottom one out when there is enough sticking up.

Adam
