Questions regarding square drive engine couplers.

Who makes the best ones for 3/16" and 1/4" shafts in terms of reliabilty / durability. Also, are they still available and if so, from where?

Thanks,

Tim.

Tim,
I use Octura for 3/16" and Aeromarine for 1/4". The Octura is one piece.

Ditto from me too Tim. The thrust bearings for the strut on the 3/16 size i have had a few from MBA fail. I used to use ones from one of the on road cars which lasted forever. Im still trying to relocate them. 1/4 MBA are good.

Check this site out, they have 1/4" coupler that is not big and clunky takes 1/2" wrench tighten up and is 1 1/4" long with 8mm threads. this all we use in our club.

Thanks Guys,

I thought it was about time I built a boat with a Square drive set-up. Better to get the right information up front before I spend any money!

Are these still available Roy? Any shops that sell on-line where I can buy them from?
