I've been using the Sata minijet 4 for several years,. For clean up I spray a high quality thinner through it, break it down and carefully clean the parts, assemble followed by a final spray with thinner and let air dry before storage. I'm not the greatest painter but love this gun and was a huge improvement over cheaper guns. Sata now sells a digital pressure regulator but my analog one works well for me. I use a Puma 7.2 cfm 30 gallon compressor with a water separator and make sure water is purged from system before a paint project is started. They do make disposable water separators for the connection at the gun but so far haven't needed one.

the digital usually give you problems after awhile. I end up with analog , more reliable. I don't adjust my gun because I spray the same paints daily. I spray by "sound and feel", I can tell by the sound if anything changes .

no matter what you buy, make sure you clean it real , real good after each use or your Ferrari will be a pinto in no time.
Absolutely!!!!!!!
After shooting a little primer today it reminded me of this thread. Like Dan said you gotta take care of your gear, attached pic is my almost 14 year old SATA minijet 4, one of two I have........

This is a very old model. But what is the latest model for similar or better performance ?

The current 4400B HVLP minijet is the "modern version". It's also a detail gun and perfect for the boats. The point I was making is with proper care my "ancient" minijet 4 still looks like new and shoots like the day I bought it.

Thank you, Don, for the useful information. Not trying to steal this topic, but it is very nice to know especially when I am trying to start doing my own painting, the painters made me waited too long and never had once come out with satisfactory result.

I really like my devilbiss sri pro. Then again I can only compare it to a Home Depot special....

Using with a Dewalt 15 gal 200 psi compressor and HOK paint.

the paint gun is only one part of the picture, type/brand of paint, type of reducer, how much reducer, temperature, air flow, preparation, moisture content, spray pressure, air hose, air fittings, spray technique,

. and an on and on.
