I was searching around for a new reciever for my hornet and I saw that Hitec has recievers for alot cheaper than I can get an airtronics one. Is the a drawback to getting a single conversion reciever? The single is about 33.00 and the dual comversion is about 50.00. If someone can give me a recommendation on what to get it would help me greatly. I dont know the differnce between them.

Thanks

Jason

do you have a 3 channel radio? i have a Lynx3d been great the last three yrs. it is dual conversion. basical the dual conversion are better. they filter interfairance better than the single.

I agree with Leighton and remember that the receiving crystals are not interchangeable...........but here is one for you.

I had all kinds of glitching problems with all three servos in my scale boat with the dual when using all three channels. I changed the dual receivers, I changed the three servos. It did not matter. I had the same problem.

When I ran a single conversion receiver using all three channels, I had no problems.

I did have the correct conversion crystals in each receiver.

So....... I run single conversion receivers in my boats that are three channel and dual conversion in my boats that are two channel. Go figure.

Maybe it could be because of digital or non digital servos.......... I dont know.

I have been doing this for three years now.

I'm not posetive a Hitec reciever might not be compatable with an Airtronics Tx. I remember something about positive shift or negative shift?

It depends on the transmitter. Most of the Hitec/Futaba are positive. JR/Airtronics are negitive. I might have those backwards, but the grouping is right. Some of the fancier transmitter you can change the shift. I know of my Eclipse you can. I think most of these radios are 2 stick and are used for airplanes/heli.

yeah mike you had it backwards Air/Hitec are negative shift all others are positive shift. I have had no problems with my lynx3D like Al has with his radio. I use regular servos with dual conversion receivers on FM band. the only time i had a problem is when this other guy at the race had the same frequency as I did. Jason what kind of radio are you using. that is the first step as to determine what reciver you should use.

The radio I am using is a 75Mhz FM Airtronics MX-3 radio. The one model Hitec (HFS-03MM) receiver says that it automaticly switches from neg to pos for the different brand of 75Mhz FM radios.
