Justin

So the engine was running lean.I am glade you fixed the problem.Go get them this weekend

I don't get how it was working. On the stand it would smoke like crazy. Throw it in and within half a lap the smoke would almost be completely gone and completely black hole the plug. Marty put it on the flow meter and it almost topped out at 300. Marty was like what the hell something is really wrong lol. So after further investigation the way i had to mount the needle (no room in these 20 boats) it was pinching the fuel line. So i ripped it apart and found a little nook for it to just flop around in. So now that we fixed the plug problem Thursday i have to try and get it really dialed in. Yay. Thankfully the tunnel is ready lol

I got the props Mark! Thanks again i cant wait to try them Thursday. How short do you think i should run the pipe with those props?

Justin,

Under 8" would be the place to start.

You may get it down to 7.5" to 7.75".

The main thing is to get good RPM out of the set up.

Enjoy Testing,

Mark Sholund

Ok so update from the race weekend first I'd like to thank everybody for all the input and help unfortunately I didn't get much time for testing in open water but I did win my first two heats with 20 Tunnel and in 20 hydro. Got no starts in the second heat in both classes. got a no start in 20 tunnel third heat and won 20 hydro third heat. came up one spot short for the championship in 20 hydro. can't complain too much for my first time out very satisfied with the end result.

And i won a AA .45 engine in one of the raffles. Now i have a reason to build a 40 boat!!!

Time for more testing.

I'm glad you had fun, we need more people like you in the area! Whenever you go testing or need a place to go let me know, I'm just over the bridge. And we run the same classes!

Shawn that would be awesome. I also have a pond we can test at. I got two pipes from Tom Foley for testing last week. I will be running on sunday with the new pipes and props Mark sent me.

She is a good boat > Jon Cambrel is the guy that built it for me ... Have Fun Buddy .....

Ok update. I put the zippkits strut on it so now i have some adjustability. I tested with the reduced 1450 and mod 1445 mark sent me. It still seems to like the h-7 the best. I did however notice that the AOA of the sponsons is wrong. There are riding on about 2 inches of the sponsons instead of just the edge. And i have no way to adjust them

Hi Justin I'm happy to see someone else young getting into boating. Different boats like different props acording to the setup of the boat. I run a cut down and de-tunged 1450 now 1447 on my cmb rs21 with the ops pipe. Now on your AOA on your sponsons you could always try to put shims under the front boom tube to try to get the sponsons attack angle where you want it. To do this you may have to egg shape the front boom hole for adjustment. After you get it where you want I would recommend you seal the wood with CA and the space around the tube with silicone to prevent water from getting in the engine bay. I'm not sure where the JAE boats are supposed to be set at but 3 to 4 degrees would be a good starting point. If you need a picture or anything I can send you one. If you need anything at all let me know. Have you figured out around when you want to build the 40 boat I have all the materials needed to build it just message me when you get time. Good luck with the 21 and have fun. I'm getting ready to build an new one for the March race in carbon.

Hey dale thanks for the input and the help at the race. A big thanks to everyone at the race. Im happy and proud to be part of a group of people that are in it for the right reasons. For people that don't know me at all to walk up and give a helping hand is awesome and is much appreciated.

As far as the 40 rigger im going to hold off for now as i have to move by the end of the month and money is going to be tight. But i know how to get a hold of you when i am ready.

Hi Justin and thank you for the comments. I'm happy to help anyone anyway I can. I understand about the cost of moving so your right you know how to get ahold of me when your ready. Are you going to enter the Brandon race.

Thanks Dale
