Hey Guys,
In Australia we had to use Shell Advance Racing M as the oil for our gas engines until a few years ago. This is a synthetic oil with some castor, but I dont know the mix. I never particularly liked it in my Zenoah because of the carbon buildup on the piston, but it seemed to work okay.
But I am corresponding with a boater in Sweden (I dont think he is on this board) who has been using 17% Shell Advance Racing M as the oil in his nitro fuel, and he has recently had a couple of engine failures. I was just wondering if anyone else had tried using this oil with their nitro boats to see if it was a factor in his engine failures.
Nitrocrazed racing: The M is for methanol so how on Earth did we end up using it in petrol?...
