I have a Classic Hydros 24" shovelnose....i also purchased a hardware kit for it(Fullers fast electrics) and i need to purchase a brass tube for the drive shaft. It looks like the strut has a bushing pressed into it so i assume that i dont use a brass bearing like i would on my nitro boats... my question is do i get a drive shaft tube that slip fits into the front of the strut or does the tube terminate in front of the strut? And what size tubing do i use? YEP! Dont know a thing about Fast Electrics!! Oh and its a flex shaft that im using!

I would slip the drive shaft into the strut and see what kind of diameter difference you have in the front of the strut. If there is enough slop I would say you should put the stuffing tube into the strut. just my 2 cents.

Thanks Jeff!

We seldom run the tubing into the front of the strut with that setup. The hole is usually too small and is designed for the teflon liner to slip in 1/4" or so. We normally stop the brass tubing about an inch short of the nose of the strut and seal it all with a piece of shrink tubing covering the end of the brass tube, any teflon exposed and the strut nose.
